Huh? ID is intolerable both because it's bad science and, for that matter, bad theology. What are you talking about? :conf: |

I said if the American government reckons it's not a problem to sponsor/finance the construction of that park because of the economic benefits, then I'm not opposed to that. In fact, if those nutters all move to some unimportant place in Kentucky, it's all the better for the rest of us.
I never said I support their views, or even think they're remotely valid. If anything, they're the poster children of what happens when you give faith more credit than it deserves... and I'm not even sure it deserves any. |

haha, i don't remember anything about "economic benefits"; i do remember some balls about possible future contributions to mankind by way of magic as yet undiscovered though :p

If I recall correctly, it's in my first posts defending the construction of the park, but because it wasn't the "outrageous" bit, it probably didn't draw much attention :p
No, I don't believe they're bound to make "any contributions to mankind by way of magic". What I said is that just because you disagree with someone, that alone is not a good reason to suppress their view because, if they're wrong they can show us why we're right, and if they're right we can learn something from them (and there's nothing new about this, John Stuart Mill said it 150 years ago). In this case, it's blatantly obvious that they're as misguided as they can be, and their lunacy can show us what went wrong and how we can avoid it. Needless to say, they're also keen to silence the opposition.

Learn one thing about me: Just because I tolerate the existence of an idea, that doesn't mean I agree with it ;)
Or think it's tolerable, for that matter, these folks really get on my ! |
