I'm pretty sure, being from Guatemala as he is, that woscar's first language is Spanish, and not English. I would expect a small error like that from ANYONE typing or speaking in English as their second language. |

And given the excellence of his English, I'd say that was said in jest (like when people say "awesomest", "goodest", "enbiggen" and so on). |

| 'Stupider' is really quite a point of contention. It's fine in American English, but then again many things are... |

| There is nothing wrong with using "stupider" anyway. It is a perfectly legitimate word. |

That would be linguaphile :p
(at least, that's the word I found here... I'd have chosen philologist or logophile, personally, but the latter isn't even in any important dictionary I know. It's a logophile thing, I guess :D)

Since I'm not a native speaker, I took Pokit's opinion to be unanimous (besides, there's the "only use -er with monosyllables" rule, so I didn't even bother to check.
According to Google, however, "more stupid" has 6.2 million hits and "stupider" yelds 2.1 million results. So, even though "more stupid" seems to be more frequent, both are apparently fine.
I learnt something new tonight :) |
