| Sounds like England's football team, although this is probably just a rumor. Either way, the Lakers still haven't found a way to stop Dirk, most likely because they can't. If I had to build a team around anybody right now it would probably either be Lebron or Dirk. |

I was listening to sports talk radio just now and apparently there is a rumor circulating that Pau Gasol's girlfriend broke up with him recently, and Pau believes a teammate's significant other's advice is the reason why the girlfriend broke it off. Maybe it was Vanessa Bryant, who knows.
If the rumor is true, maybe those are the trust issues Bynum was referring to. |
you're forgetting lamar "odom" kardashian. :o i also heard matt barnes' wife is a bitch too. |

:stongue:
Dirk!? Yeah cuz who doesn't want to build a new team around a 32 year old scorer with a history of not showing up in the playoffs (till this year) who plays mediocre defense and has maybe 2 good years left?? He's playing awesome right now but that's the dumbest statement you've made thus far. You wouldn't go with Rose or Chris Paul or Dwight Howard as that other choice?? |

Definitely not a point guard. Dwight Howard is fairly useless outside of like 6 feet. You're saying you wouldn't rather have a 7 footer who shoots 88% from the line and nearly 40% from 3? His career numbers speak for themselves, and he's showing right now (which is why I said "right now") that he's one of the top 5 players in the NBA. It doesn't really matter if he plays "mediocre" defense (which is a stretch to say) because nobody can guard him. And if "not showing up in the playoffs" means career averages of 25.7 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 88% from the line and 38% from 3, then yes, I would absolutely love to have him on my team in the playoffs. Oh, and he's also averaged 57% from 3 twice in the playoffs before this year. Your precious Ray Allen never has never averaged higher than 47%. |

Don't be a stat nerd. Kobe also averages 28% on last second game winning shots in his career... you want to tell me you still don't want the ball in his hands at the end of a game? It's a point guard's league now man... ever since they changed the hand-check rule like 6 or 7 years ago we've seen the rise of teams with great point guards take over. Tell me right now what NBA general manager would take Dirk over Dwight Howard, CP3, Derron Williams, or Derrick Rose to start a new team. |

Lol that's why I'm not an NBA manager. I'd still take Dirk over any of them. None of the guards you listed are your "typical" NBA point guard though. They're exceptions to the norm. Just like Dirk is an exception to the norm of a 4/5.
The only other player I might take over Dirk is Lebron. |

Also a very good point.
What do D Rose and Dirk have in common?
Neither one of them took the SATs. |

No, it's not. Name me the last point guard to lead a team to a ring?? Magic ing Johnson and that's because he is one of the greatest of all time. Lakers repeated with a skeleton at PG. Celtics rang with a strong defensive frontline. Miami with Wade going bonkers. Spurs with Duncan in his prime and so on and so on. Don't blame Dirk for having a team most of his career. Dallas are about to sweep the 2 time defending champs with 38 year old Jason Kidd at point. PG is one of the most overrated positions when it comes to playoff basketball.
Unless Bulls play complete defensive schemes for 4 quarters against Miami, Heat will win in 6. Let Rose go for 30 a game. Or hell, they could put Wade on Rose since Bogans is a complete non factor on offense. Rose will HAVE to average 10+ assists per game to open his team up since Miami is playing some elite defense right now.
Life couldn't be better then FINALLY seeing a different Finals this year. And to think Lakers won't even get out of the second round is icing on the cake. |
