| Well I think ranking NBA players in a "top 10 of all time" manner is an exercise in futility anyways. There's no real objective way to do that. |

prime shaq is the most dominant player ever. I dont understand the surprise. after revising my list, he's #2 now.
1. michael jordan
2. shaquille o'neal
3. bill russell
4. hakeem olajuwon
5. wilt chamberlain
6. kareem abdul jabbar
7. magic johnson
8. tim duncan
9. kevin garnett
10. larry bird
5 years ago, if kobe was anywhere near the top 10, it would be flat out laughable. now that he has 2 rings won as the leader with all his all-nba first team selections, he's cracked the top 10 or 11.
I'm surprised you think my list is funny. after all this is a music site, not a sports site so I get it. |
your first list, sadly, made more sense
:haha:
Magic at 7? and Bird at 10? Garnett at 9? Shaq at 2 (best one lol)
im suprised Vince Carter is not on your list??? lol
you're right, thank god this is a music site, if not i would think your crazy
not only do i think your list is laughable, go back and see who else laughed at you |

slam magazine did the top 500 players ever and this was their top 10:
1. Michael Jordan
2. Wilt Chamberlain
3. Bill Russell
4. Shaquille O'Neal
5. Oscar Robertson
6. Magic Johnson
7. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
8. Tim Duncan
9. Larry Bird
10. Kobe Bryant
not saying that Slam mag matters but they've been around since '94.
kobe in the top 10 isn't blasphemous anymore in 2011 as it was in the past. |

Right, just like Wayne Gretzky is globally accepted as the best hockey player of all time. That doesn't mean it would be possible to rank the top 10 best hockey players of all time. Differences in position, differences in the era they played in, etc. make that essentially impossible.
It's like comparing Barry Bonds to Babe Ruth. You can't do it. (Even though Babe Ruth was way better:p " |

a generation gap is certainly a factor against all-time lists but any basketball fan with common sense would say michael would dominate any era; same with wayne gretzky. it's all opinion anyway. |
