I don't really think anyone was trying to make the case that Kobe was as good or better than MJ, but I still don't think it's really even that close. Plus, there's a lot more to being mentioned as one of the greatest than just having good stats. Some players make everyone around them better, and others cause rifts in teams because of their selfishness and heir of superiority.

Lmao, I was telling one of my friends the other day that the only reason that D Rose won the MVP this year is because Lebron doesn't have to anymore :haha:

Make no mistake- Jordan had major rifts with his teammates. He and Pippen still barely even acknowledge each other since their careers ended.

Kobe doesn't "just have good stats". I think there is a big difference in Kobe from when Shaq was around and after he left. The argument works well about being a selfish diva for the first 8 years of Kobe's career, who only cared about himself and didn't give a damn about teammates. After Shaq left and L.A. became a .500 team I think he grew up. He finally learned that he COULDN'T do it by himself... he got teammates involved a lot more... and I don't think it's a stretch to say he did make his teammates better the last 5 years. Kobe's grittiness and work ethic (which is legendary) rubbed off on Gasol (who was a much bigger before L.A.) for sure and a few others. He embraced the facilitator role a lot more, and would take over games when he had to like Jordan did. Yes, another Jordan copycat move, and a few years too late, but he came around.

See you make good points when you're not being a dick about it.
