This is good news, but this doesn't mean much. There is still going to be terrorism, and there will always be terrorism. I was talking to one of my best friends who just came home not long ago from that sandbox, and he is being called back in and has to report back in the morning. This is only the beginning. |
I don't think that anyone posting here is considering this to be a "Yay, we won" victory of any sort. Of course terrorism will go on.
It's a pretty serious event, though, no matter which way you look at it. |

I think it was a good idea to bury him at sea. No symbolic tangible place for people to visit and treat like a shrine. but yeah I see what you're saying; people are gonna start speculating if they don't see a body. |

Did anyone else see how Fox news accidentally had "Obama bin Laden" scrolling across their screen at one point tonight. What a terribly inconvenient error. |
Tin foil hat alert. MSNBC's Norah O'Donnell tweeted this tonight... ACCIDENTALLY.

Uh oh! The jig is up! Now we know she's a super secret operative for Fox News moonlighting at MSNBC, and this Freudian tweet exposes her! And she would have got away with it too, if it wasn't for those dang kids! |

It does seem kinda strange to watch that... looks like mostly a bunch of kids looking for a reason to party. I saw reporters interviewing some of 'em in front of the White House and asking, "How do you feel right now? What does this mean to you?" And they'd be like, "HE'S DEAD! YAAAA!!" or "I LOVE AMERICAAAAA!" or "THIS IS SO SURREAL! THIS IS GREAT FOR OBAMA!" or even more stupidly, "ROLL TIDE!!!" (which for you foreigners is the University of Alabama sports team cheer). Good lord, I had to change the channel. It was embarrassing. One douche who was like 20 years old said, "I've been waiting for this virtually my whole life!" Really? Since you were 10 years old you've been emotionally invested in Bin Laden being killed? Can't wait till those clips get shown on Hamas TV. *facepalm*
Ugh... something just feels weird about taking to the streets and waving flags cheering over Bin Laden getting smoked in a Pakistan compound. Street demonstrations are for the middle east. Hey, it feels ing great that we got him, and how we got him, but let's make this public spectacle short lived please. |
