Something that I have been wondering, If Pakistan knew Bin Laden was there then why was there no kind of response from police, army...etc during the raid. 40 Mins is a long time. If there were helicopters flying around my neighborhood with explosions going off in the middle of the night, for 40 mins nonetheless I would think someone would be calling 911 and the police would be surrounding my neighborhood. Is Pakistan local authorities that incompetent?
Maybe they don't have a 911 system there, but still I would think some patrol detail would have seen something going down and called it in, no? |

| If they didn't do anything in the last 6 years, they were never going to do anything in those 40 minutes. It all reeks of corruption. |

yes, but US doesn't care about that, they also use cluster bombs and anti-person mines |

Thing is, Bin Laden claimed war on Pakistan...strange to have that much corruption going on.
Oh and to those that say "Why was he killed?"
UK tabloids (can't remember which, scan read it while in the shops) said that they were under orders that if he was clothed to kill him - in case info of the raid had been leaked and he had a bomb strapped to him - not sure how true, but I can kinda see the point. |

yes, military personel killing an unarmed man is wrong... Rules of engagement. |
What about a mass murderer, enemy of the state, and enemy combatant? |

my bad it's not the rules of engagement but the humanitary rules.
He should have been taken as prisoner, where he would stand trail and would prolly be executed.
It would have been better that they told the world he was armed.
the rules of engagement differ with situation .. ROE for Afghanistan aren't the same as those for...Lebanon or other mission.
the ROE of afghanistan are more offensive, but wouldn't say it is correct to shoot an unarmed man |

If he was taken alive, can you imagine the trouble that his ppl would cause to get him back???
There was no choice but to kill him....
Although, I still think he's living on some ranch in Montana. He's been there for years...

Totally - When they capture a US soldier, they give them a fair trial before beheading them live on the internet. They so should have mirandized Osama as he was arrested, then give him due process and then at least a decade on death row while he files his appeals with his court appointed, US taxpayer funder lawyer.
Too many trolls in this thread. |
