i was there a few weeks ago and it's pretty yuppie i never would think techno/house would make it's way there

omg! All day I dream? I would like to attend, but I'm not sure what to expect from these guys. Cause I was looking for a set an it was kinda minimal-non-epic-nu-deep-no-journey-driven kinda stuff, which I dont like, but then I listen to a GEM! such as this track:
which is pure awesomeness. So Im not sure. Has anybody been to one of the past shows?

For what it's worth, I don't like 99% of the deep/disco whatever house that everyone plays now. The ADID parties are more like the track you posted. It's like trance without the the white noise and saw waves. "Journey" as you say.

Great video, but it raises more questions.
If he's using 4 channels to the Xone from Traktor, what's he using the faders and knobs on the K2's for? He has EQ and Volume on the Xone already.
He said he's running the Maschine through the AUX (which I hate because you lose the Xone's filter on those channels) but then he's using them as effect send/returns for two different effects. Unless he doubles up on one channel where the Maschine and an effect run out the same channel (since the outs are software mapped you can do this) but they'll share the volume and EQ on the mixer so you'd have to be careful when you're using the effect and what the volume of machine is. Unless he uses the other Faderfox controller to control the volume of Maschine internally and leaves the AUX channel on 0db and also controles Abletons effects channel with software.
They really need a 5 or 6 channel Xone 92 with two more AUX's with so many people running synths or drum machines with their 4 Traktor decks. Or you need to upgrade to a studio mixer with multiple return buses.
It's nice to know him and I have a very similar setup :) Minus the second laptop and faderfox and X1s and a F1 instead of K2s. With a single laptop I have to switch between Maschine and Traktor though thankfully Maschine has most stuff on the LCD if you get good with navigating the menus. I actaulyl wouldn't want to have to rely on 2 laptops. I would just run an iPad as a second monitor for Ableton. You could use it as a touch screen controller then too, or just map everything in an app Like TouchAble and just uses Spaces if you need to switch to regular ableton screen. Though Traktor fails hard when switching spaces in fullscreen mode and comes back black.
I like the way he has his Maschine setup. Instead of having each bank being a kit he pulls it apart so each bank is a type of sound. That would make finding the current sounds really easy and make sure you don't run two kicks by accident across kits.
