edit: If you've never heard about it, they have an annual nye's festival called, UltraMar..has a bit of everything.

There isnt a EDM scene at all but i do see AvB fliers everywhere, haha. But I do know that there is a techno minimal following at the club The Forum. Many good dj´s has played here so there is definitely some sort of demand. Paco Osuna 8 hour set on 5-19 in case anyone is coming down here

ok, perhaps, I'm exaggerating when I said HUGE. And, there isn't a big scene an whatnot (I mean obviously, its all about the salsa down there). However, minimal and tech has been around for a while. Last time I went I remember hitting up a few places monthly or so at La Kasa, Forum, and Carnival (my fav venue and nany siiick memorable moments there). I used to also live in Bogota, but the scene there wasn't much...a few good parties every once in a while. Logically, you would think a month is nothing compared to what we get here (we're spoiled)...but a good gig every month or so, in a third world country, I'd consider that to be something.

If you say there isn't much going around than I guess you just missed the train.

I did... I got my hands on his press kit ;) He's the owner of Silent Steps, a label that has releases by Drumcell, Raiz, Audio Injection, remixes by Kyle Geiger, Luis Flores, etc (basically badass, hard, bangin' stuff).

He recently released an album on Nachtstrom Schallplatten that is pretty awesome from what I hear from the SC previews (you can listen to it HERE).

This one is a good one too

Hey techno freaks :)

New release on Hidden Recordings out today on Beatport, amazing EP by Signal Deluxe from Mexico with remixes by Deepak Sharma & Dieter Krause, Craft and Derek Marin :)

You can find the EP HERE

Glowing review from magazinesixty:

If you like music that challenges your imagination then Mexico City’s Signal Deluxe are most definitely for you. The led track is somewhat epic clocking in at nearly eleven and a half minutes, but don’t let that bother you at this develops a sequence of completely intriguing sounds and vocal treatments all at its own pace – feeling almost ambient at times but with a deadly serious undercurrent too. Or to put that into other words, it’s a stunning piece of electronic music. But then so is the Derek Marin Remix who twists nasty stabs together with trippy vocals and slower beats. The Craft Remix lifts the tempo techno time for its unrelenting version, while the Deepak Sharma & Dieter Krause Remix stretches everything out into sonic extremes and might be something you would like to experience in a dark room (though perhaps not alone!) Again you could use the word exceptional. 9

Anyone going to Tale of Us tomorrow?

I think I'm going to sit that one out, my party bills are getting crazy and I'll probably see them in MIA anyway. I bet it's going to be a good party though :(

I'm still thinking about it, its way too expensive though. I'm going to Twice as Proper tomorrow for sure, Boston kids are coming to show us their town isn't all about Sergio Santos and Soul Clap-style boring-ass heroin disco ;)

Not sure what their status is now but apparently they didn't make it to Boston last night due to some visa issues.
