| Started working out about a month ago with a colleague (guy is a gym-rat with knowledge on nutrition as well) who largely guided me through the steps and machines. I lost 11 kgs (24 pounds) within the course of a month through a hipo-caloric diet of ~300-500 kcal/day mostly of salads and fruits and about two hours of gym daily which consisted of small exercises and 30 minutes of cardio - running mill + stepper. |

| Losing 24 lbs in 30 days isn't healthy. |

I didn't expect such results, to be honest. My body has kick started its metabolism as well. Lost 2 kgs (4 pounds) during a 5 day siesta in which I ate normally. |

| I quoted Russell above. ing hell I should just put him on ignore (and then write a plugin for my browser that hides even the "this user is ignored" things). |

| That would be brilliant. Even the posts you can't see are annoying turds. |

Wrong! Depends on the drug |

| I know a guy who went from like 390lbs down to like 250 over a year or so, and the first 2 weeks of his diet he lost like 20lbs of water weight alone. When you are that big 20lbs of water can come and go quite easily. Thats why a lot of people who start out on these diets and exercise regimes will get stoked the first month, but then they actually have to work off the fat and not just the water and they get totally dissuaded. |

By that logic you could lose 20lbs just by dieting and sitting in a sauna for an hour or 2 every day.
You don't lose that much weight from just water weight, that just doesn't happen. Maybe after a particularly hard workout you could lose 5-10lbs that day just from sweating, but that's not weight that you keep off. It returns as soon as you actually rehydrate, which you should be doing anyways.
That's why football players are weighed at the beginning and end of practice in camp to make sure they're not losing too much water weight because it's incredibly unhealthy and can lead to minor side effects like death. |
