Yeah, cleans can be a bit daunting when you first start out. It's definitely important to begin light until you have the form down perfect.

Do you guys even lift ?
Lunar Phase 7

I think I gave myself a pinched nerve or something in my right thigh, just below the hip. I can press on it and get a sharp pain there and when I sit in my computer chair (that has these retarded hard plastic edges) it will bump against it.

Not sure how I did that.

Will run on it tomorrow and see if its a hindrance...

Cue training montage.

I'm not going to lie either, that's exactly what I use it for :D

I tend to find running to drum'n'bass a bit difficult though, because I always want to sync my steps with the beat, so I end up choosing something much slower (than drum'n'bass, that is), around 145~150 BPM to keep the pace.

I hate to disappoint but... I do. As a matter of fact, I'll lift some weights in a couple of hours :p

Still, I'm not a good lifter though, as you can see in this rare picture of me not wearing my mythical plaid shirt:

I can only bench press 50 kgs/12 reps (thanks, Stephen), which I'm sure is like being a level 2 paladin if I were a true nerd :p

Bench press :p (dumbbell bench press if it's two separate weights)

You need some ing animal protein!
Lira
Haha, I'm drinking milk in the picture, that's some animal protein right there :p

I need discipline more than protein, actually. I've been skipping lifting sessions every now and then because of my work/studies, and I kind of like how much upper body looks actually - it's just the belly that's killing me, reason why I'm now riding my bicycle back and forth around the city :D

Thanks! I believe it's really bench press (google images gave me exactly what I meant).

Do you eat fish at least? You should really eat fish!

Oh yay, I totally forgot about the old thread + I don't really post much in here anymore, but here we go.

Since I started working in an office last year I've been active about running at least 3 - 4 days a week, and lifting 3 - 4 days as well. I don't really follow any sort of specific routine, and I've tried to do some reading online but the bro-science that seems to envelope a lot of lifting/fitness related material is boring as hell for me. It seems like the general gist is to eat enough, and make sure you're increasing your weight steadily while allowing for appropriate recovery time. I focus on free-weights, deadlifts, squats, etc.

When I run I tend to do about 20 minutes, which I know is pretty minimal, but it seems to work for me. I've been slowly increasing my distance as well, so I'll probably continue to do that.

I finally got an actual gym membership a few weeks ago (had been using my office's crappy gym until now), so I can actually do squats, deadlifts, and benchpress since my last gym was lacking. Mainly, I'm not at all concerned with losing weight (6'1" 188~), but I would like to gain a bit of mass/definition since I'm pretty lanky.
