| Started doing Xingyiquan the other week, very different from Muay Thai, lots more arm work. |

Has nobody seriously posted in this thread in a goddamn year???
I recently started doing a variation of Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Golden 6' routine.
http://www.gym-talk.com/arnold-schw...en-six-routine/
I did switch the behind the neck press to a military press, and instead of chin ups (because I am a ) I do bent over rows (overhand). I super set most of these with ab/core work like hanging leg raises, planks, and v ups. And instead of bicep curls I do weighted walking lunges (because I don't think the squat is enough of a leg and glute workout for me - I like my legs to burn in between gym days).
So far, so good! I'm basically doing this because I needed change. |

I actually hate the treadmill, but it's the easiest way for me to get in some good HIIT cardio. 20 minutes at the beginning of my workouts every time. Gets me nice and amped. I don't like working out if I'm not dripping sweat, no joke. It just doesn't feel like I'm working hard enough otherwise, lol. |

I gotta say, the rowing machine is amazing. It's beyond me why it isn't in constant use at gyms. |
There's a reason Claire Underwood bought Francis one :p
I'm four weeks into my new workout routine. Nothing different than what I've always done to get cut and in shape - HIIT lifting. Started playing basketball again for my cardio 'cause I hate running otherwise (thanks to the military). I almost died the first time I went out there in years and tried to play three consecutive full court pickup games. My lunges were in pain. Stopped drinking for the most part, too, and I've quit eating out. Drink water all day, exercise, eat somewhat healthy at home - it's not magic. |

| Oh, I started going to a new gym too. Boy the meathead quota sure has increased. I hate gym rats. Ugh. |

Ran every day for the past six days. Feels good.
I'm slow because until a few months ago I hadn't run anything more than half a mile in like ten years. Yesterday I did 3 miles at 9:00 pace and it was pretty hard. Hoping I can get it down below 8:00 pace over the next three months by knocking off 5 seconds each week or so. I have my little running app on the phone that tells me how fast I am going. Modern technology is cool.
I do a 1.8 mile circuit twice for a total of 3.6 miles. I've never been big on distance or going for a long time, so I plan on trying to do the same circuit faster rather than going for distance or duration. |
