BITCHES RAGE HARD!
Last year was too much of a cluster for me. I didn't like the crowd, most of the music was (especially cause the ENTER night was winded out), and getting to and from the event took way too long with traffic and the huge security lines. Plus, all of the artists I had wanted to see (like guy gerber) only played the early early slots for ridiculously short sets. No thank you.
I do like vegas though, so It might be worth it to go during that weekend anyway to skip the festival, do the "vegas thing", and hit up a good DJ or two at the afterparties. |

enter and carl cox & friends were some of the main reasons i went last year.

That is a big up IMO. I personally prefer EDC over Ultra. I am not into day festivals though so that is a big part of it though. Part of the appeal of massives for me is the stage setups which do not look that impressive during the day. Last year's Ultra was also way to too crowded. They need to find a bigger space. At EDC I never really had any problem going from stage to stage or walking around within a stage. The main stage of Ultra was super packed compared to the main stage at EDC. At Ultra, the ASOT/Carl Cox stage was close enough to the Space Ibiza tent that the music was trainwrecking between the two if you were near the back of the tent. The main stage and ASOT/Carl Cox stage at Ultra were setup better than EDC though, but the rest of the stages were pretty plain. Plus, the Klipsch amphitheater stage has a bunch of seats until you go way back on the grass so it's not the best dance floor. |

Just checked out the hotel package rates, and they appear to be about the same as standard rates to the public (at least for Luxor). For 5 nights starting June 20th, the EDC rate was $3 cheaper (total, not per night).
Anyone find any deals? Last year Cosmo was a steal, but it's not on the list this time. Maybe more casinos will be added later and the promo rates haven't started yet? |

Really, you think so? I actually prefer day time festivals than night time festivals. I don't typically do a lot of drugs at these parties so that's why I don't prefer EDC times compared to Ultra times. At least at UMF I feel like when the festival is over, I still have enough energy to either go back to the hotel or to the after party at a club.
With EDC I feel like it's totally in the boonies and when I get back I feel like a zombie that has been cracked out all night.
To each their own. |
