I like EDC because it creates a mini WMC/Ultra week in Vegas with all the pool partied and after hours!!

So this is my first time going to EDC? I was wondering if the ticket included the parties at the day clubs or after parties or do those cost extra? How do you know whose playing where outside of the EDC official event?
Do they have special guests that are unannounced?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone else going from ABQ?

the pool parties and after-parties cost extra for the most part.... last year Marquee did 1 free party that monday. Some hotels will let you in free to certain parties if you are staying there, but not all...

as it gets closer EDC will announce their official parties and i'd check Wantickets for other events.

You might see a special guest or two but not a lot IMO.

Cosmo Boulevard pool had a free Insomniac party Thursday night as well, even a free open bar, but it was nearly impossible to get a drink. Half of the dance floor was in the pool since it was an inclined pool, but it wasn't a bad party for being free.

The EDC ticket includes entrance to EDC on all three days, nothing more. EDC is held about 20ish miles north of the strip.

Obviously las vegas has a ton of clubs but everything they hold is separate. How do you know who is playing? the same way you'd check on a normal weekend. Look up the club schedules or maybe some will even get posted on our own event forum

Special guests? sometimes. rarely are they ever announced.

For EDC Vegas...Arrive and LEAVE early. Been said in this thread already...but can't reiterate enough how terrible traffic gets. Even if your favorite artist is closing out a stage - not worth it. Come early during the daytime (don't lag) and get the hell out the speedway by 4AM. No single artist is worth waiting in 3 hours of traffic for while coming down from whatever you're on.

is it really that bad, even with the shuttles?
that sounds torturous

we always left around 10-11pm and got there in 30-45 minutes and usually walked inside with minimal wait.

i would agree about leaving at 4am... the crush of people leaving at 5 when the show ends really slows down getting out of there.

It's bad either way unless they make a change like giving the shuttles a dedicated route this year.

I drove the 1st EDC in Vegas and did the shuttle thing last year. I personally preferred the shuttle experience just because if you are going to be stuck in traffic I'd rather be relaxing on a bus instead of being the driver in stop and go traffic for hours. People have varying experiences, but for me the only downside to the shuttles is if you try to get on during the peak times. I didn't have to wait long to get on all weekend except for the last night when I stayed until the end. Like others have said, that is a mistake. That was horrible. Long lines and as the sun started to come up, it started getting hot . . .

Another good thing with the shuttles is if you get split up from your carpool people (I think only Verizon has any cellphone coverage in the Speedway) or if some of you want to leave early/later than the rest.

It was mayhem, free for all traffic...took 3.5-4hrs to get back to the strip if you closed out the day. It really sucked, 3 hrs just get out of the parking lot. I reallllly hope they actually have a system and people patrolling the lots, that whole bottle necking of 6 cars wide for a 1-2 wide exit was just stupid.

Anyways, I can't wait! LOL

Do those shuttles have bathrooms in them?
