I don't typically do a lot of drugs at these parties so that's why I don't prefer EDC times compared to Ultra times. At least at UMF I feel like when the festival is over, I still have enough energy to either go back to the hotel or to the after party at a club.
With EDC I feel like it's totally in the boonies and when I get back I feel like a zombie that has been cracked out all night.

I'm the opposite, I've never done anything other than alcohol and caffine at any EDM event and I think it's way easier to keep up the energy at night. The afternoon sun of a day festival makes me way more tired and I never feel like going back out to a club after getting back. For EDC, the key for me was the shuttle buses. I think I would have gone crazy if I had to drive in that traffic for hours getting to and from the event. |

What size is Ultra compared to EDC?
I was only at EDC for 3 hours from 2-5am on Sunday and man oh man.. I can't imagine pple on drugs walking those far ass walks between stages. It was like a trek! |

idk, i dont consider a few minute walk between stages a "far ass walk"
then again, i also dont complain about coachella and it takes 10min to walk from the sahara to the main stage |

| A FEW minutes? walking thru the Super You & Me Stage took forever.. and i came on a Sunday.. if there was no one in the speedway sure.. but walking thru crowds + a big distance ..takes forever.. i can only imagine how Friday and Saturday was. |

Ultra seemed significantly smaller to me than EDC last year. I couldn't find good air shots for either but on the Ultra one there is another stage on the top that is cut off.

it's not bad really.
I'll take EDC's size over Ultra any day of the week. The entire Ultra venue is a giant butt rape, and every single piss and drink line is two miles long. that . I get instant piss and near instant drinks at EDC. |

ultra got about 50-60k a day. edc got about 100k a day (115k on sunday).
sunday was the most crowded day for edc as well and everyone was messed up due to saturday being shut down. everyones mentality was to party hard on the last night.
but main stage at edc was a wreck. people were sardines in a can. not even worth trying to go there after 11pm honestly. it took me about 10min to go 100ft |

Palms place seems like a steal right now for about $500 ish. I picked Vdara this year at $700 for 3 nights. Elara wants about $1200 and cosmo wanted like $1500+. Cosmo was definitely a steal last year. |

I thought it was pretty easy to get in and out of the main stage because the artists were kind of all mixed up and people seemed to leave in droves after their DJ stopped playing. I think in the case of Armin, there was even a break in the music before he came on so even more people left. The only bad part for me was trying to get into the area. The side had this truck parked in the way so people were trying to get in and out of this small area but once I got past that I didn't have a problem with space. I don't try to go all the way to the front though. When I went there for Armin's set on Sunday, I quickly got to the area in front of the lighting booth without much effort.
Even with less people, it was way more crowded at Ultra's main stage. There was no way I could make it close to the front of the lighting booth for the 2 days I went. Now that was packed. |
