However you need to be careful as to how much you do this as it can have a very strange effect on percussive sounds and the kick. Can make things sound like a bad mix even if it's one track playing.

This is also true for a lot of pitch correction software including CDJs1000 master pitch.

I've tried modifying songs by just one semitone(st in Ableton) and it makes the songs sound like crap.

Ok. I finally accepted the fact that I am going to need to learn how to do this. I have no instruments in the house. I do have Rapid Evolution on my computer. Alot of people say it is way off, but can't you use the keyboard in the program, or is that off too? Please, somebody help!! I did a gig last night and really killed the crowd a couple times because the drop in energy, due to bad harmony. I really want to learn this. Could someone give me some pointers to get started?

Thanks,

Mike

I just went thru the info on that site. It looks like they provide a service or something. I want to learn how to do this myself, so that may not be what I was looking for, but I appreciate your help.

I sort of didn't want to hear that. LOL! This thread is huge! I'll start from the beginning and keep reading along. Thanks for the response. And if someone could answer my question about Rapid Evolution that would be great.

Thanks,

Mike

I dunno if this has been shared before but anyway, this is a really handy tool I've been using to key my tracks.

I've uploaded it to yousendit here:

Thanks,

Mike

Aye, pitch correction is not really a work around and hence I don't user it. Don't even user ableton for that matter.

cheers
