Netherlands > Law school. Deffo! Hahaha I honestly tried to get into York b/c they have an exchange program with University of Holland, but I got rejected :( |

I'm curious about the supposed tobacco ban in public places in effect, it hasn't been discussed in this thread as far as I know so here goes.
I know I read about it a while ago but I haven't heard any follow up stories. Is it actually in effect and, more importantly, being enforced? Or is it more like the legal grey area marijuana is in right now, "kind of legal but kind of not, but nobody really cares either way."

hey all, plan on heading out to amsterdam the 3rd week of January and wanted to know if there were any good parties going on?
I know it's kind of far out but wanted to get an idea if there is anything happening.
I think I plan on flying to london, train to amsterdam, and maybe fit in rome in somewhere.

Well, actually it's being enforced strongly!
I guess they don't check it on a daily basis, but if the pub owners get caught then they have to pay quite a big fine.
There's a lot of discussion anyhow, because the small pubs loose a lot of income & the pubs around the border loose clients since they're going to Belgium or Germany.
Smokers are real addicts!!!
I think this law should be implemented in the whole of Europe!
