haha, i always thought they were different terms for the same act. but im guessing the style is a bit different.
actually, i'll do it this way:
| quote: |
A MAN in the German city of Cologne fatally stabbed his elderly father before cutting off his own head with an electric chainsaw, police said yesterday.
The headless body of the 24-year-old offender was found when police raced to an the apartment yesterday after an emergency call, apparently from the dying father, had been broken off in mid-sentence, Deutsche Presse-Agentur reported.
Alf Willwacher, a senior prosecutor, said an electric chainsaw was next to the son's body.
"We do not believe any third party was involved," he said.
Neighbours said the father and son had been reclusive since the death of the mother, allegedly by suicide, several years ago. |

From wiki:
| quote: | Seppuku was a key part of bushido, the code of the samurai warriors; it was used by warriors to avoid falling into enemy hands, and to attenuate shame. Samurai could also be ordered by their daimyo (feudal lords) to commit seppuku. Later, disgraced warriors were sometimes allowed to commit seppuku rather than be executed in the normal manner. Since the main point of the act was to restore or protect one's honor as a warrior, those who did not belong to the samurai caste were never ordered or expected to commit seppuku.
...Samurai (and modern adherents of bushido) would use seppuku, whereas ordinary Japanese (who in feudal times as well as today looked askance at the practice) would use hara-kiri. |

Caught in the act: a revealing image, a stunning fact or an outstanding statement.

That's pretty low, considering that if Arabs were polled about the Israeli culture, I bet you it'd be near 100%.

It's probably way higher in the US. And if anyone was heard speaking Hebrew in an Arab country (not counting Turkey), I'm sure their land and job would promptly be taken away from them.

Ouch, now that one sucks. |

| Although the world community is backing and providing hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to the new Palestinian government, how stable can it be if Hamas is determined to keep up their extremist agenda, attack their fellow Palestinians, isolate themselves from the Arab and world communities, and obstruct their own system of government. :conf: |

up until April of last year the PNA recieved $1 billion annually in direct aid from the EU and US.
after the Hamas won the makority in the elections, they've recieved zero $.
elections have consequences. in no place and at no time in the world is that fact more evident. |
