Official review : Bal en Blanc 13th Edition, April 8 2007 (pg. 2)

i was one of the those suckers stuck in the line at 3am...so this is a review of the bal en blanc ENTRANCE LINE. we heard that the new mtl fire marshall wasn't allowing any more ppl in. 30 min later turned into 1 hour later, which turned into 2 hours, and finally 3 hours or so. by 6am, you either lined up for refunds or stuck around in case they allowed any more ppl in. both options sucked balls because there was an obvious lack of preparation for the situation. anyway, i thought ppl were going to fkn riot, especially when they plugged up all 3 stairs up with security and police showed up. i gotta give credit to that marie-eve lady for handling the pissed off crowd. while in line, there were rumors that organizers knew this would happen and continued to sell tickets. i don't wanna on anyone but somebody tell me wtf is the real story?
anyway, i spent most of the time in the tech room by the time i got in, just in time to hear AvB then A&B. if i had missed any more dj's while waiting in line, i would have choked a beyotch. A&B def kicked some ass with the classics. |

in the trance room all night... svd... feels like home... was the peak... and armin... classic set by him... and when he played markus new track i am... markus schulz was standing behind the dj booth... gave a shout out to the man :) that was cool... and a&b were great... especially no one on earth... and back by any demand...
it was a great night... and the house was disappointing went to hear deep dish and im guessing it was dubfire playing... minimal...:sadgreen: |

| What?!Offer Nissim was on fire, he lit up the house room during his set,too lazy to check who was after Offer,but that dj just added more fuel to the fire already set,then ran as fast as i could when deep dish came on :D . Sander was real good, Armin was good,typical armin stuff didnt impress me that much,where are the "dropping techno beats our of nowhere" days? Above and Beyond got to me more,good selections and then Preach came and just destroyed everything starting with my eardrums. For people who made the good decisions as in being in one of the 2 rooms at the right time, this bal en blanc was freakin insane. If i would have stayed the whole time in the techroom or the whole time in the house room,overall i would have been disapointed. |

SO Jealous! :( Couldn't make it this year cuz of last year of school and insanity in that sense!
No choice but to wait till next year! So I have to live it through the good reviews.. Keep 'em coming please :) |

| just got home from Montreal, review in a bit.. comments on music from both rooms, the overcrowding again, and of course the dames. |

This was my first Bal, and overall it was a very good experience. I loved seeing what some people came up with to wear, some very creative stuff ! The bathroom situation was a little annoying, it was a little journey in itself just to use the restroom, not to mention the wait times. Also the technical difficulties they were having in the tech room during Armins set were extremely distracting !! I really enjoyed Armin & Above and Beyond, but I couldn't make it to Preach's set, too tired !
Partied with lots of amazing TAs, and as usual they are mostly from TOTA :D Too many to list, but you know who you are :D
My wtf of the night: waiting in line for the washroom, when three massive juice monkies come out of the same stall, and these guys were HUGE !! :haha:

Yeah but what other word can describe bal en blanc to the general public? When I talk to my friends who aren't into EDM, I have to use the word "rave" since people associate it with all-night parties playing EDM and loaded with drugs. Fairly accurate IMO.
I wish I could have gone. Ah well, been 4 of them. Hopefully they'll fix the overcrowding issue for next year.

How about after hours party? A rave is a more undergorund event, and BeB isn't that by any means. I can't bring myself to use the r-word. |
