Sure you might get big DJ's but the local scence and the local DJ's are non existant. I've noticed you love preach. Preach, not counting misstress barbara and many others, got there start in the MTL afterhour scene. Mtl massives are great and I've been to many but now I only go to B&B. This because I think the real beauty of the scene in MTL lies in the afterhours or the wharehouse parties. IF you want to show your friends what MTL is all about you should bring them to Ferry @ circus. Formula one weekend is, for me, one of the best nights to party in MTL and there are never any massives on that weekend usually just a great DJ at one afterhour. The best time I ever saw Tiesto was at ARIA on Formula one not a y massive with crapy sound. Plus if you love trance you are going to fall in love whith Nick, another great local and my fav, wich is opening up for Ferry that night. Oh and its alot of fun coming out of the club and hearing all the cars driving around.

And as for no massives in NYC doesn't PVD do a central park massive every year.

Sorry if I came off harsh:p

:haha: :haha: omg when was your first 2 years, 1999? I have NEVER been so baffled by a post in ta history. Ever since Made events took over the club scene, the focus is 100% on music and nothing on looks! LOL I find that comment so hilarious, because I moved to nyc and was like "doesn't anyone dress up here, !" There are no models hording the DJ, no standards in which to dress. And a girlfriend came to visit and was weirded out by the fact that people had ufo's and puma's on LOL!!!!!
NYC is the LAST PLACE on earth that that comment could be made about, unless you are referring to the hip hop clubs down the street. lol

and PVD a MASSIVE?!?!? holy effin christ you make me laugh. just because its outside?..... or what is it you make that assumption on? There are MAYBE a thousand more people in CP than in, say, crobar, and its a daytime event that lasts til 10pm. nice

As for the local scene being non-existent, thats how I can tell you have REALLY no idea what you are talking about, because our big club scene here SUCKS and the thing that keeps edm here alive is the support of our locals in the smaller clubs that, imo, are great clubs (cielo, love, sullican room, etc).

I am not saying ANY of this to be rude, I swear, I dont get down like that.....but everything you just said about the ny scene os so far off its scary. lol And I dont even love the scene enough to stand up for it! LOL :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

I go at the right of the stage while Armin was playing and I see a guy with a white towel. The first thing that comes to mind is

This is how I meet M. Fahad (hope I spelled it correctly).

Two minutes later, whom do I see? A MTLTA mod like person holding a huge ass camera! That could only be Malek! :P So there, I met two TA in 5 minutes, doubling my know TA list.

Yes. I come from the days of Exit, soundfactory, twilow, and the tunnel. And back then if you didn't dress up you might not get in. And by dressing up I don't mean looking nice I mean wearing all designer close. One time I almost got denied because I wasn't wearing the right shoes. Another time I almost got denied by the Queen at the entrance of Twilow who didn't think I looked guay enouph. Thats never happened to me at stereo.

Sorry it was just a sugestion as I said I don't party in NYC anymore. Last year I had a friend go to this event and had alot of fun.

Good to hear things have changed. But I have a friend who recently moved to NYC and when he lived up here he use to go out with me almost every other weekend and now that he's in NYC he barely goes out and when he does he complains about the NYC scene to me and tells me how much he misses MTL. I doubt he would lie to me hes a groosman at my wedding.

Anyway I feel like I'm running away with the topic of this thread so I appoligize if I offended anybody. I like NYC but just for the village. Its one of my favorite places to walk around.
yankeeBaby
^^No one is taking offense, I was jusy saying that nyc is very different from what you encountered. (even if you hated nyc I wouldn't take offense bc to each their own, ya know?)

and PVD IS fun in the park, but def not a massive. NYC's outdoor events are one of the best things about the edm scene here. If they put half as much work into the weekly club events....well....our scene would be amazing.

and in comparison to mtl, the scene does suck, but the local and afterhours clubs are what keep it movin here. :) And the fact that we get a load of good DJ's on a weekly basis, but the clubs they PLAY in are complete . ---->I would take stereo and/or guv anyday over effin PACHA!! (and crobar/studio/spirit/etc for that matter!)

yankeeBaby
PS: back on topic, I woke up today at 9:30 am and realized that this time last week I was talking to one of my fav DJ's ever. F*CK!! :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: I hate when good events are over.
