it is not automatic in the nhl, but if a clean hit causes a serious injury suspensions have been handed out this year.
it is not black and white, but they still give a game or 2. It has happened many times this year.
hey, it wasn't 6 to 4 last night, but it was nice to see Jaroslav Halak shut down a hot team like Vancouver. Everyone behind us in the standings lost as well. Awesomeness.

What are your thoughts about that bodycheck I posted, twas clean, yes? It's nearly impossible to tell what exactly happened, but imo it looked like his own stick got caught in between them and thus crushed his face.

it was bad, i have seen worse for sure, but it is never nice when you see an athlete that works hard to be a pro and gets hurt bad.
that would get a suspension in the nhl too, not because it was dirty, but more because it was a really bad outcome for the receiving player.

in the nhl if you break someone's leg or neck you get a few games, but if you say "sloppy seconds" then you are banned. pretty ed up, but i don't think that hit posted would have gotten a suspension unless someone the league doesn't like was the person delivering the hit. hits like that, umberger, kapanen, kariya, etc. are great examples of why you need to keep your head up especially at a pro level.

the game will go 2 ways:
1) the rangers will dominate nearly the entire game scoring only 1 goal and then the avs will score 2 late and win.
2) both teams score only 1 goal and it goes to a shootout
