just looked at the standings...wow i knew the race for the top eight was tight but looking at the two conferences any little mistake could have you booted out of the playoffs. going to get down to the last game on the last day of the regular season. exciting :).
also didn't realize san jose and detroit were that close with regards to points to boston...guess they aren't guaranteed the presidents cup. |

They're both just one point behind, and both have played less games! :wtf:
Didn't even realize it was that close.

'My' team just kidnapped the kid who's #2 on that list from one of our rival teams :tongue2
Ranked as the second most promising youngster of all -92 born juniors, and probably the only Finn to get a first round pick in 2010 :) |

Firing coaches rarely works. It did work for Chicago, but then again they found a great replacement. Montreal, had they found their game, would actually be able to come close to their last year's stats. Now... I'm not so sure.
Habs problem this season is this whole centennial thing. Pressured to perform (Cup finals or else) with an average team.
In today's balanced NHL you cannot win the Cup based on pure heart and grit, which allegedly they lack anyway.
In the mean time the western conference is chugging along. |

it worked for the caps too last season. Ever since Boudreau took charge, we've picked up immensely |

Carbo said something that annoyed Gainey... after loosing to the Trashers (a horrendeous game), Carbo told Gainey " I don't know what to do anymore ... "
Gainey was ticked by that, "he's the head of the team and he should always have at least one solution" |

| For the record, Carbo has the best regular season record since Pat Burns. |

Seems that at least Koivu wasn't all too bothered with the new coach :p
On the other hand, it's not often a team loses their first game under a new coach.

I am totally surprised if Teemu Pulkkinen isn't drafted in the first round. After all he was supposed to be even bigger prospect than Granlund until WJC.
You better make that guy a quality player. We don't have that big prospects too often... |
