what ribbon?
oh and the Win Taskbar is still glitchy as in 7068...ughhhhh |
Ribbon interface = the way to tell stupid MAC fans YOU. If you fail at using it, go back to Win Vista or XP. Ribbon FTW.
Also, Win7 is quite awesome. I use it at work full time as my primary OS. Have been using it as such since build 7000. The only issues I have had, is getting my damn TV tuner driver (the driver installer crashes during execution) and Network share detection. The network share issue seems to have worked itself out and is working perfectly, but otherwise everything works perfect. The taskbar is awesome. Better grouping, ability to pin stuff to the taskbar and also start new tasks by using right click on that icon, etc. Win7 ftw. MUCH better than Vista, and WAY better than XP. |

| Win7 is amazing from a design point of view but the fact that Nero or NOD32 don't work on it is lame as . |

Which version of Nero? The new versions are crap. I wanna stick to 6.6 lite, which is giving me problems. |

That would likely be why, as I'm running 9. Mind you, I've only installed Burning Rom and Cover Designer (for Lightscribing). Have you tried application compatibility? |

Have you seriously used the Ribbon interface beyond 2 seconds and hating it? Seriously. Get over that bull of OMGIT'SDIFFERENT and use it. You will find it is 100x better. Why you ask? Because everything is task oriented. You highlight and right click text, the font stuffs comes up. Everything in Office 2007 and now Paint and Wordpad, are just like this. I understand the learning curve is massive at first, but only for a small few things. Otherwise everything is easy.

Give it time, and NOD32 will work. In fact, I am pretty sure there is a version that does work. I will test tomorrow at work and report back. Nero 6.x though, while it was great, meh it is old. Plus what do you need it for? There are better programs out there that are even smaller and lighter. :) |

The thing is; the newer version of NOD32 is crap too. I'd want to use an older version as well (that's lighter too). As for Nero I'd need it to burn CD's, DVD's, Cue sheets, etc etc. Windows doesn't do cue sheets so if you have any better suggestions I'm all ears. Kinda bored of Nero anyways. |

Burrrn does cue sheets wonderfully, and the whole program is free AND 4MB. :) Also, just an FYI, Win7 burns cd images natively. I dunno if it does cue sheets (the images I burned didn't have them) but you might try it.
Also, yes I agree that the older NOD32 versions were lighter, but we also aren't in Pentium2 with 512MB of ram days either. Computers come with anywhere from 2GB to 6GB of ram and Core2Duo 2.0+ghz. That is more than enough to suffice. Especially since Win7 is badass. |
