But at that age they're awesome!
It's when they get stressed about us not being able to understand them when they start being a pain.....terrible twos?! |

there's a lot of bull in this thread. i understand some people choose not to have children because of their career or they like to spend their life traveling ect. but not because kids are brats that themselves and have public temper tantrums. that cannot be the only reasons you do not want to have a kid. I don't know what kind of kids some of you idiots have been watching but if you actually raise your child with respect, disapline, consistancy and a load of love, they actually turn out pretty decent. It doesn't take rocket science to do this. I have seen some horrific parents, and some pretty ridiculous children as a result, but for every ed up family i know 10 families that were able to parent and raise their kids sucessfully.
yukki it sounds like your big fear of children is you're afraid they will turn out like you. and i suppose that is legitimate. |

i used to say i never wanted kids, then a few things happened this year that changed my mind...
1) my closest girlfriend got knocked up
2) i held and fed an infant for the first time in my adult life (this totally blew my mind and i had warm fuzzies for about 4 days afterwards)
3) i realized i'm almost 26 and i am thinking more seriously/realistically about things like marriage and babies
so yeah, i'm not in any hurry. i probably won't want kids until after i'm 30, but i do know for a fact that i want them... as long as i can find a guy who i would actually consider reproducing with. |

first off, congrats on being preggers i didn't know:) and pretty much agree with this whole post.
my mom's best friend is a perfect example. she never let her kids have computers in their rooms and TVs and and they didn't get cell phones until they started high school and they share a car (she has a boy and girl only a year apart). they are super cool kids and i've known and babysat them since they were infants. it's really hard to raise a kid in south florida but she really stuck to her guns on things like the computers and cell phones and she always had them involved in karate or dance or whatever they expressed an interest in. the boy is super smart and has a great personality and wants to be a marine biologist.
anyway my point is, you're right. there ARE great parents out there who know what the they are doing and it's up to you how your children are going to act, that's the bottom line. i mean unless you give birth to a jeffrey dalmer lol. parenting is just common sense and time management skills and selflessness...and i dont mean the kind where u just bust out your wallet and buy them whatever they want. it's about sacrificing your own time and needs to make sure the proper needs of your children are met, whether they agree with them or not. |
