I think you should be wary and not marginalize people who are questioning motives and legitimacy about serious health issues... it's a poor addition to an otherwise interesting discussion. There are VERY real concerns about those who are driving this one forward. Seriously, the terrain out there right now is very perilous, and we're talking about a battle of fundamental freedom of care and health access.

Let me just say this; I'm happy beyond all belief that at least some people are saying "maybe I don't want to be a corporate experiment for some profit motivated bastards who give not the slightest about any of us" and thinking twice about this thing. Seriously. These people are actively suppressing alternative health innovation, corroborating with the Canadian Board of Physicians to de-license environmental doctors who have successfully treated tens of thousands of patients (Dr. J Krop, for example - look him up), and doing their best to hide any scrap of negative research findings they can.
Did you know, interestingly enough, that Pharmaceutical companies do not have to publish all research findings for medications they are developing for market - only the ones which they choose? This is slowly changing, but it's reason for more than a little concern. Who do you think is going to look out for you? Health Canada? Not likely. Not when whistle blowers like Dr. Shiv Chopra is taken to court for trying to reveal the dangers of Bovine Growth Hormone while WORKING FOR HEALTH CANADA.
Anyways, that wraps it for me tonight. All I say is just read, and question - and the truth will set you free ;)

They have pretty much stopped issuing counts on the regular season flu, which bothers me. When you put it in perspective, considering the vaccination just came out, the numbers would not look that bad.

I was looking for a good source of estimated regular seasonal flu infections/deaths in Canada... i didn't find anything I could consider solid but one place stated 700-1500 people die annually and another place said 2000-8000. Go figure...

I posted in another thread that the CMA said it was around 2000 per year just in Canada. That is pretty insane, make makes h1n1 look like nothing.

the biggest annoyance of all this is having to hear about it constantly. I cant wait until a couple of months from now when you dont hear a thing about it. Just like bird flu and especially Y2K. Funny how NO ONE spoke a word about Y2K from 4 days after New years onward to this day! Its like one of those simpsons episodes where "its all over now and we shall never speak of it ever again".

considering that NONE of my FB friends are getting it, none of my work peeps either - I'm surprised everyone else is up in arms about it
on a lighter note my parents woke me up with a phone call from Ukraine today demanding I get the shot - they got an earful LOL
