Heck, think I'm going to AO myself!

i don't know anyone going myself.... i'm not saying Escape from Wonderland is going to affect it (though it will). IMO, the location (totally outside and uncovered (correct?) and a bit inconvenient to get to) will really affect the attendance versus being at say the Sports Arena.

I wish Go Ventures well assuming the party goes off as planned but i'm not too optimistic that it will be slammed.

Wait, you are saying an event in OC is out of the way? In the same statement that mentions Wonderland which is way out in the boonies?

I should restate that out of people I know deciding to go to an event that weekend, I dunno anyone who is not going to AO. I am sure there are tons of people who are going to Wonderland and other events (like being in SF that weekend would be a great idea for anyone), i just personally dunno anyone going to that over AO.

I know quite a few people that live in OC and come up to LA weekly for club events that are very happy this is in OC.

Like Dave T said, if people are willing go out to NOS for events, they'll be fine with OC.

You also have to remember that this being the only US Armin Only for Mirage, there will be a lot of people travelling for this.

I think this year's Monster will draw more people than last year's at least, despite the location.

again, i'm not trying to say Wonderland is the main issue here... i only know of one person so far that said they are going to that either...

the MM location is not exactly central OC... its in the hills of east OC... technically its about the same distance from Hollywood as the NOS... but i understand its just a single-land road in-and-out of the venue and the last few miles before you get there which makes it slow going arriving and leaving... a problem you don't have going to the NOS.

any big Armin fan won't care about that... but I think a lot of the casual fans that would go if the show was at the Sports Arena like past years prob won't go IMO. that's more the point i'm trying to make... too many options that night... plenty of people are happy just getting into a costume and going to any Halloween party... doesn't have to be a big massive. those people aren't going to want to drive a 'long' distance to this venue...

Well, I bought my MM ticket for $45 two hours after they went on sale back in July. Today, over a month before the event, they're going for $75. This would indicate that sales are brisk, if you ask me!

Edit: If the counter is correct at www.MonsterMassive.com , there have been over 2.2 million views so far, so there seems to be some interest...

Oak Canyon Park is literary about a 10 minute drive from Santa Ana, and Santa Ana is the heart, dead center of OC.

the last 5 miles in to the venue are on a single-lane road, correct?

you think traffic won't be a mess if 30-40k people show up?

i think Oak Canyon capacity is more like 15k at the most

looking at google maps its single-lane driving into the venue but double-lane going back out...

Did anyone go to LoveFest? How was parking? All I see is muddy dirt on google maps. I haven't been to this venue yet but I agree with most of you theres just so many things that could go wrong.. On a side note.. I got my ticket today, yay.

GoVentures must have shuttle busses going in & out of the venue, will they not? They just listed nearby Hotel's on the website and I'm guessing that they might have shuttle busses going to these hotel's for those coming out of town to see MM and also for those staying overnight in a hotel.

I know of at least 30 people from Vancouver & Northern British Columbia, myself included, coming down to see this (i know 30 doesn't sound like a lot but coming all the way from Northern BC!) and of course many more from all over the States. :)

That being said, I really hope it doesn't get cancelled and hope they are smart enough to arrange for shuttle busses. Even if they don't happen to go to the hotel's, at least a central location so that it's easier for patrons to get to their hotel & more importantly reduce the traffic.
