No. I was there and at Armin Only. The production at an Armin Only show is at a different level.
Armin tweeted this earlier today: "Fixing some new showmoments for #ArminOnly Los Angeles!"
He seems to think it's still happening. Wish I was so confident. |

| Tix are still on sale through Groovetickets, location is listed as Oak Canyon Park. Wondering if the FB page claiming that the event won't happen at Oak Canyom Park is from an alt account set up by Insomniac or something??? |

lol that's some serious conspiracy theory there considering how old some of the posts are that clearly are related to Oak Canyon Park as a rentable park venue. not to mention the James Events own website saying the same thing. |

I was also at his Armin ONLY in NYE too, felt the same to me..
Anyway ARMIN LIVE was awesome!! Wish they would do it downtown again..

...and it does say the same thing. So why is the promoter still selling tix today showing the event as Oak Canyon Park?
I imagine that the conversation is going something like this: "C'mon guys, we'll triple the rental fee then, the world's #1 DJ needs a venue for this event...ok, 4 times..." At some point, anybody would say "Yes!" (unless it's held up by some $50 city permit, in which case the whole thing is hopeless...) |

I think it's more along the lines of this James-Event company messing this up. Everyone is on the hater wagon against GV, but honestly, not booking a venue that you know you're going to use well ahead of time is highly unlikely.
My guess is that it happened in one of two ways.
First, James-Events/Oak Canyon is backing out of the deal. The anti "rave" scene in LA is pretty strong right now, and they could have had some strong arming from the right people to back out of the deal.
Second, when GV booked the venue with James-Events, they very easily could have entirely left it out of the books on mistake. The odds of some low-level bookkeeper making a mistake are much more likely than GV just completely blowing the entire venue by being lazy. In turn, James-Events have no record of this event being held at their venue, therefore they respond in the way that they are now, by saying this event is not happening at Oak Canyon. It is not in the books, it's not happening. In the time that MM was not in the books, the girl scouts came in and booked the event for that date instead. This is now giving GV a problem because they no longer can claim that day, as the girl scouts already have it.
GV is responding with that they will clear this up within 24 hours from today. This makes me believe that this scenario is most likely the case, as they are probably collecting the proper paper work that was filed for the event and the right people, in order to make their case and take the venue away from the girl scouts. |
