Damn, didnt really watch the olympics before today, but this is huge news on the internet and the more one reads about it the more unfair it seems.
And it seems even sadder when you look the pictures from other angles

I really wanted this one for Michael, but he lost it to Le Clos at the very last stroke, it was a blink of an eye and Le Clos snatched the gold from him. Le suck. He did look sluggish at the beginning of the race, never a good sign. He still swam beautifully, extraordinary race. And I'm happy for Le Clos, he was so emotional, the kid is over the moon now. :) |

Tell me about it, I was almost crying there with her when I saw it (not live though). She was so astonished when the duel ended she barely even moved, and remained there looking at the officials as if she couldn't believe her eyes.
It was even more painful to watch when she broke into tears. |

Yeah, i can imagine that being painful to watch, nothing entertaining about watching someone on the edge of despair for an hour and then see them cross that edge. Also doesnt help that the visuals look like it was taken out of some sci fi works du to the dark arena filled with neon floors and people walking around in what could easily pass for space EVA suits.
I think everyone who watched that agrees that the girl deserves a big hug. |
