Yes, I can't think of any more compelling evidence that many British people consider Oliver Cromwell a hero than what is written on www.olivercromwell.org. |
And yet a famous statue of him still stands in London. All you have to do in America to have your statue torn down is neglect to mention to authorities that a coworker was diddling children. |

So you're telling me there are no monuments in America to any historical figures with blood on their hands? |
|

No, but I'm telling you that the blood on their hands wasn't conveniently swept under the rug in the history books.
The entire history of Great Britain is based on horrible violations of human rights, and yet nobody seems to care. To add to that, British people even get offended when the subjects are brought up! I remember there were huge numbers of Brits up in arms over the (quite accurate) portrayal of British soldiers in the movie The Patriot. |

| A huge number of people care, you're just a ing simpleton with an abstract sense of anger and a cartoon outlook on reality. Britain's relationship with our colonial past is complex, multi-faceted and ongoing, but trust srussell to dumb it as far down as humanly possible. I can assure you all children in this country are taught about the darker sides of our history, because I actually went through the British education system, where as you're some dolt sat on the other side of the Atlantic tattooing harps on your arms. |

| Ooooh ad hominem. The great debater reduced to logical fallacy. |
|
|
| SYSTEM-J |
| It would be ad hominem if I tried to discredit your character in lieu of disproving your points. I still shot your bull down with the fairly undisputable evidence that I sat through the standard UK history curriculum and was taught about slavery and colonial crimes, ergo the human rights violations of our history are in no way swept under the carpet. Consequently, what I've written is not ad hominem, it's merely some additional -flinging to underline just how much of an imbecilic, mouth-breathing cretin you actually are. QED. |

| It's okay. It's not your fault you were born there. |

| This is the part where you post a massive image to show how you totally don't care. |

English gypsies aren't Irish. |
They're all called Paddy, and known as 'irish travellers' Except they just park up on land & don't travel all of the time. |

It is :)
Funny thing is, I don't think the English appreciate London as much as foreigners do. I met two guys from York there, and they couldn't believe I had left Brazil to visit London :p |

No, we don't. We only go there so we can appreciate the Oliver Cromwell statue. |
