Baseball not being in the Olympics sucks. |
Cricket should be in the Olympics as well. At least then India would get an Olympic gold medal every now and then :p
Edit: Oh, look! They got a gold medal in my lifetime! And two medals if you're over 32! |

Do they allow alcohol at the olympic venues? Because its inhumane to subject anybody to watch either of those two without a steady and infinite supply of alcohil so one can remain heavily intoxicated at all times.
On a similar note, why is dressage still in the olympics? Even the name stinks of poshness. And if it is to remain, start giving medals to the horses who do all the tricks not the tossers in the stupid hats that ride them. |

| I feel like a sport involving the riding of another living animal has too many variables to be a fair competition. |

| I'm addicted to (field) hockey now. It's a shame this sport is even less popular than dressage around here :( |

| I saw the official opening ceremony soundtrack CD in a music store today. I know Underworld were the official musical collaborators with Danny Boyle, but almost every track is actually produced by High Contrast! |

My cousin plays & captains a local side & also helps to train kids at it, he knows one or two of the GB women from doing that side of it. It's an interesting game but there have been (from our girls at least, i've not seen any other womens matches) a lot of mistakes with regards to simply trapping the ball from long passes. My nan used to play when she was young & is amazed at how poor some of it is now. If she could actually run I swear she'd be out there kicking people around :eyes: |

Hey, then we would have a lot of medals less :whip:
No, I think you are underestimating their performance a bit. It's also a hell of a job to get those horses to a level that they can compete at the highest level.
And then winning together is another challenge.
Bad thing however is horses are being sold. Some rich German bought "our" Totilas for 10-15 million Euro's, the horse which could have brought us another Golden medal this Olympics for Edwar Gal. Totilas should have been here at the Olympics. An American journalist called both "rock stars in the horse world", see below:

The German Matthias Alexander Rath until now hasn't been as succesfull as Edward Gal, so it's not only the horse that counts either. |

I was thoroughly impressed with the score from the opening ceremony, so I bought it of iTunes almost immediately and I was surprised to see how much High Contrast material was actually on there as well! It's clear he was heavily involved, not that I'm complaining, though!
I'm looking forward to playing out his remix of Rez, I think it's a great track that was goose bump inducing, when it was played in the opening ceremony. |

You do realise you're just provimg my point right :p If the right horse is so important to getting the medal, then the medal should go to the horse :D
Thoroughly enjoying the womens volleyball match at the moment. Japan is currently leading against china and i kind of hope they win. ALso, am rooting for korea against italy later in the day. The other two matches im not that invested in, but seeing korea vs japan in the finals would be nice.

Holly crap what a match!
Japan | 28 | 23 | 25 | 23 | 18
China | 26 | 25 | 23 | 25 | 16
Seriously, they were dead even troughout the match, it was AWESOME to watch! They would go up a point each, then one would go 5 points up in a row, and immediately after that the other would go 6 points in a row to take the lead  I hope the rest of the matches are just as exciting...except koreas, i want them to sail trough :D |
