| I just think it's funny that Oliver Cromwell is still considered a hero by many Brits. I'd imagine most Germans don't learn about the heroic actions of Adolf Hitler in school. |

Try to find one mention of his sending the Irish as slaves to the Caribbean. To hell, Connaught or Barbados, right? Hell, not even colonial Americans can get away with being mentioned, while conveniently omitting the horrible acts they committed against the Native Americans.
It's almost (while not quite as extreme) like talking about the Nazi annexation of Austria, while leaving out the minor detail of all the Austrian Jews being sent to concentration camps. The main difference being that there is no Nazi party anymore, while the British royal "bloodline" is still ruling part of the country that they essentially turned into a slave colony. |

| Meh, quit it. We sent criminals to australia, that was a mistake, what a beautiful place it is. We now just have great rivalry with them instead. Personally I don't mind if 'northern ireland' became part of the republic but I think it'd be down to the people who currently live there to decide if they wanted to, same for Scotland/Wales getting independance. But for now, the 4 nations are GB & I will support anybody willing to come and compete for us. If it makes you feel better, we're ing teeming with gypsies stealing metal, lead & stuff so you maybe got your own shots in, plus the IRA bombings here. |

Yes, I can't think of any more compelling evidence that many British people consider Oliver Cromwell a hero than what is written on www.olivercromwell.org. |

| We just have total momentum now. It feels like the entire country is euphoric. The finale last night, when we won three golds in an hour, was just incredible. I was out in town afterwards and the atmosphere everywhere you went was absolutely electric. |
