10cm taller than you? I thought you were taller than that, in your pick you usually look tall, but then again you are always either sitting down or are with your fiance and that skews the perception a bit :D |
Haha, I'm 177cm tall... or short for European standards :p

But she is a feather yes, she certainly goes trough the air like one. But the size comparison is quite something. Saori is 185, Heon Kuong (asian Gamova and everybodys favourite player in these games...my god the bbc anouncers before the game today were praising her so much that the only reason they stopped was because the english language itself failed them because they ran out of adjectives to describe the awesomeness of a person) is almost 10cm taller with 192 and then theres the russian Gamova with 202cm  |
And Gamova is just a wee bit heavier than me :wtf:

I'm pretty sure her resignation comes from the belief that the universe is conspiring against her now :p |

| NBC has been using Rez for backround music a couple of times. Pretty cool when it comes on. |

It's the first time I'm actually excited about the music in the Olympics.
I just wish BBC provided the names of the tracks played during the intervals... there's this dubstep track (of the mellow English kind) they play every now and then that is absolutely awesome. |

If she only knew how many new supporters she got during the games, she would feel a bit better about the universe :D
Speaking of koreans, i forget, do you actually speak korean or just find the writing easy? I seem remember talking to you about it a while ago. |

Korean is pretty much like Finnish to me: I can read the stuff, but I have no idea whatsoever of what it is that I'm reading.
Hangul, their script, is extremely easy though, and I truly believe it's the most ingenuous writing system ever devised by human imagination. Of course, after a few pronunciation shifts over the centuries it's not quite as neatly organised as it once was, but it makes way more sense than this mess we inherited from the Romans, who nicked it from the Greeks, who stole it from the Phoenicians, who in turn believed it was amazing to have an alphabet based solely on pretty drawings.
Of course, little did they know, as in very few languages does the word "ox" begin with an A (turn it upside down and you should be able to see inspiring bovine creature that led to its creation, with horns and all). |

| Do you have any good online sources where i could look that up? Im basically just doing vocabulary now for both french and german 8well mostly french, but german is slowly comming back on its own). As i said previously i will look into picking up an asian language after im satisfied with those. Was previously deciding between japanese and chinese but thought it might be nice for korean to be a choice as well :) |

4th and 5th with BMX'ing :(, but just 18 year old girl next door, youngest of the field won bronze, totally unexpected.
2 time 4x100m but no medals to expect.
2 hockey finals, both will be difficult, but two more silver medals at least. |

I thought there were no Mini Coopers in the Olympics. Turns out I was wrong:

Any course on hangul should be able to teach you how to read the script in a day, although they don't always explain why the letters are the way they are (which helps quite a lot).
If you want I can post a thread later this week and I'm sure it won't take you (or any other TA) more than 20 minutes to learn a whole new script. |

There are two! And they're both remotely controlled by a couple of teenagers, with arguably the best volunteered job in the Olympics! |

The football match between Japan and South Korea is downright brutal. I'm pretty sure that Kawamura (?) is going to run out of blood before the end of the second half.

They are volunteers?! I'd PAY for something like that. |

Yeah, they are! There was a news piece on them a day or so ago, they're students from a local school/college.
They get to watch all the athletic events....... and remote control toy cars at the same time. Epic win! |

Yes :) Maartje Paumen (17) did it, 2nd Olympic gold medal and now Olympic hockey top scorer of all times.
It wasn't easy and first goal came out of a bad call of the referee. That we must admit.
