I guess I just don't get into the Olympics that much. Never have?
I love the basketball and football (soccer) but I think everything else bores me a bit. The sprints are kind of cool, but it's like 10 seconds.

It's crazy nationalism, basically. I'll be interested to see if whether the UK can constrain the "lads drinking" crowd... and that's just the locals. Imagine the (very high number of) Australians living there. Party/rage time! :p |

| Was expecting a bit more for the opening ceremony. Granted, there were a few funny gags thrown in here and there, but after the Beijing games, this one just didn't feel up to par with it. Guess my standards had risen. |

If you ever want to enjoy the opening ceremonies again, you'll need to stop comparing them to Beijing.
Stu, I don't care about sports at all except during the Olympics. The events themselves didn't mean much until I started hearing the back stories of the athletes competing. Now I'm hooked and watch as much as I possibly can. |

winter olympics is definitely way more interesting to watch.
compared to luge or downhill, swimming just doesn't cut it. plus, the winter games are all about team whitey. |

I ing loved it. Most enjoyable Opening Ceremony that I can remember seeing.
I'm not the biggest lover of sports in the world, but I do enjoy watching European Football and American College Football (the NFL is terrible), as well as a few other events here and there, and I get damn excited about the Olympics (as some of you could tell from Facebook :p). |
