| I know I've already said this on Facebook, but I can't stop laughing here. The moment Shin A Lam finally gets her medal... the announcer mixes her up with someone else. I mean, she gets a medal and even then we can't help but feel bad for her, hehe. Someone please give the girl a hug! |

I hate you so much right now :whip: :p
Its just because i know that Slovenia on its own will never ever get the olympics...maybe if we hosted it together with croatia...but thats probably even less likely than hosting it ourselved :D |

Actually, it's possible Istanbul may host the 2020 Olympic Games... and the distance from Ljubliana to Istanbul is not really that much different from the distance between Brasilia and Rio :p
Except for the World Cup (some matches will take place just a couple of kilometres away from my flat), it totally feels like the games Brazil will host this decade will actually be hosted in a foreign country :( |

I think it's kind of bull how Welsh, Scottish, or Northern Irish Olympians' medals are being counted under "Team GB."
If Murray wins gold...actually nm, that will never happen. |

Maybe not distance wise, but its still several countries away so its not exactly the same.
And i actually checked and there are some fencing clubs here...about 4 in the whole country, and the nearest one about 100km away so not all that convenient :p Also, only foil and sabre, which at least to watch are much less interesting than epee. |

Well, it's called the United Kingdom of Great Britain for a reason - you don't hear the English (who win the vast majority of medals) whining about them going under the flag of Team GB do you? I think people who worry about nationalism have very little else in their lives to worry about. They should be proud of being part of GB and whether people like it or not, they are part of it. Scotland for instance fails on several points of the accepted criteria for being it's own "country" and it's certainly not a sovereign country, in the respect the UK as a whole is. |
