They wont do all if they get a complaint. If they really gave two s, they'd have a respectful promoter or Charles himself on here replying to these complaints. Look at Boa for example. Both of the owners frequent the two main boards in Toronto (TA, Tribe) and interact with us on a regular basis. They wont do anything like this because regardless if they run the place with any dignity or not, people will still come.
For all those interested in trying the Guv for the first time:
The Guvernment - A club that dominates the Toronto scene and draws the most in demand dj's in the world strictly due to the fact they can afford to from the rediculous amounts of people they pack into their venue each and every special event. Go if you just like to stand amongst a bunch of shirtless sweaty men, ed up 40 year old asians, and thugs trying to be hard. Oh and its a plus if you DONT like to dance, because at The Guvernment, you have no choice in the matter. If by the slightest chance a fire broke out, you and all of your friends in attendence probebly wouldnt make it out alive, either from being trampled on, or burning to death. Because at The Guvernment, it takes on average about 10 minutes to reach the exit from the other side of the club. I hope you like the feeling of being dominated, because at The Guvernment, the bouncers will treat you like their little bitch. Screaming at you, telling you to get the out of the way, and if you lucky, they might, just might, physically push you out of the way with such force you'll knock over a dozen asians in one shot. So in all aspects, The Guvernment is the perfect venue if you happen to be one of the following.

Probably the biggest reason I didn't go to see Sasha (and I really wanted to) was because:
1) With the price only being around $20 you just knew that every sketch-head and juice-pig were going to show up.
I compare door prices for events like rental prices for apartments.
The lower the price; the lower the clientele.
2) Having been to several large events at Guv/Koolhaus I've made a conscious decision NEVER to attend another if it's in the Guv with the same reasoning of all the 12 pages of whining in this thread.
I'm kinda glad I never went...

Are you serious, complaining about the people that go there, who are you to say who should or shouldn't hang out at the guv. or any party for that fact, ya there may be some people there for other reasons but im sure the majority of the people are there for the same reason no matter what race or how they look, or do when they're there!! You can't seriously say that they aren't welcomed to the club because you don't like them!!!!! The guv. is what you make it to be, if you want to blame your bad night on those people then so be it! But you seriously need to grow up and consider yourself lucky to see the worlds best DJ's!!! |
