People have a choice between going to guv or not. The government rams this law down everyone's throat. I complain about people's complaining that result in a reduction of my liberty and choice to do as an adult. That is a HUGE difference.
Yes I compare to the rest of North America. If you followed my posts you'd see that when i talk about overseas i don't put toronto in such a great spotlight that often. And you dont see people overseas bitching either. Lets face it, Canadians and especially Torontonians bitch as a national past time. As i said before my only complaints are about complainers, the laws they get passed, and paul martin hehehehe
Complaints about a club are valid but the simple fact is that you have a choice in whether or not to attend. |

This is 100% true! Top 40 is most other parts of the world is similar to top 40 in North America with some exceptions (those being the musicians local to that area).

While I agree that Guv provides a less-than-hospitable environment, I don't think they are in any way misrepresenting or renegging on their product or service. We all know what to expect when we go there...rude security, pushy people, and less than ample dance space. It may suck, but are we promised otherwise by Guv? Nope.
There's a food place near my house the street from me with staff that provided ty service to me twice...and who were downright rude a third time...I don't go there anymore. So put your money where your mouth is and don't go to Guv. Will other people move in to take your place? Perhaps...but the same holds true for any business.
So don't go to Guv...go to some small place struggling to compete. If enough people did that, it WOULD make a difference. Too many people are unwilling to stick to their own principles and keep going back...

sure i dont like how its always packed n stuff, but i dont mind it that much (sat night wasnt that bad compared to others btw) personally. And if i did, i wouldnt just complain on the internet n stuff. If u rally wanna see the guv change, try and do sumthin. |

good point. i mean, basically whrn i go to guv on a special event i have to ask myself, what room do i want to be in, and what i think the crowds will be like, b/c i have to gage if it is worth it for me. i think that ppl are not willing to put their money where there mouth is, b/c for talent guv is a good deal- 15 bucks to see the amazing line up for the last ultra spin- that's an amzing price- i'd rather pay an extra 5 bucks to have them let fewer ppl in so the experience if more enjoyable, but that's how they do things there.
a club like boa has a higher cover fee, but you get more. even tho pp know this, they don't always want to part w/ their money to see 1 headliner at boa when they can see 6 for a fraction of the price. i'm not saying one is better than the other, it's a personal preference. i tend to go to all of teh venues that have edm, depends on the night, the dj's. i've had incredible times at guv, at system and at boa, it just depended on the night.

Best party ever there...JUDGE JULES on a WEDNESDAY 3 years ago, Great tunes, Wicked hot people, no crackers and it was only about half packed!

:haha: That party was sooooo cwazy man!!!! :stongue: I have a picture with the Judge we got on stage just before he finished and were taking some pictures with him while he was spinning...man that was a fun night and I totally punked off my EX :haha:
That was the official pre-opening party of the Guv after renovations - but there was not a lot of people there but everyone had a great time still... :happy2: |
