You can't seriously say that they aren't welcomed to the club because you don't like them!!!!!

Yes im complaining about the type of people attracted to this club these days. No i DID NOT say they should or shouldnt be there. I was simply pointing out the kind of clientele they now have frequent their clubs on special events. I know they've had these kinds of people in the past, but its become way more obvious in the past year. And like i said in one of my earlier posts, i blame it on the fact that a lot of TRUE partiers have opened their eyes and realized what this "superclub" has become. I dont care what race somebody is, and im not saying all asians at clubs are like this, but 99% of the ones at The Guv are unfortunately. Im sure even the asian TA's that frequent this board would agree with me on this and in NO WAY think its a racist comment.

The guv. is what you make it to be, if you want to blame your bad night on those people then so be it! But you seriously need to grow up and consider yourself lucky to see the worlds best DJ's!!!

You are completely off with this comment. When i do make the rare appearance to go to The Guvernment, the only reason for attending is to see whatever dj has drawn me there. I try to have a good time and put myself in a positive mood. I also try to tell myself that it aint that packed, and i can dance, and me and my friends can enjoy ourselves to the fullest. But night in and night out, my positive spirits diminish rapidly due to all of the things ive already mentioned. Go back and read the first 15 pages of threads if you want to be reminded as to what me and many others are talking about.

I think it's just that wesjor isnt a spoiled, jaded Torontonian.

Youre probebly right, and at the same time being as spoiled as we are we've got so many quality options. If only Guvernment were respectful in the way they run their business, Toronto would have one of the best scenes in the world.

Well I'm sorry to hear that the TRUE parties as you call them are such a stuck up "too cool" group to hang out with some new people. Im peronally glad that EDM is becomming so popular and attracting new crowds. I hope youre not one of those people that thinks that EDM is "their thing" and that's what makes them different - kind of like the punk kids that are all anti-pop  So that when its popularity spreads you bitch about it and go "underground" where the "true" partiers are...

I'm not a big fan of the people you've mentioned in your list of folks that attend the Guv, but that's a pretty far cry from reality, and you should be more open and accepting towards new patrons than what you appear to be. :happy2:

one more thing that i hate about guv. ever since the no indoor smoking ban had been released, there hasnt been a single night in the guv where people dont smoke inside. and the worse part is, the bouncers dont give a crap, becasue they themselves smoke inside the venue. ive saw a few of them on saturday. when i came home my dad was pissed bcuz i stunk like smoke, and he is aware that its against the law to smoke indoors. he thinks i actually smoked ciggaretts. i never confessed and i wont. i have come to a decison that i will NEVER EVER GO TO GUVERNMENT AGAIN!!! even if its ferry corsten spining... no more guv for me. ill still luv to go in the kool haus. but u wont never see me @ GUV again. its history!:whip: :whip:

p.s. when they have special events on friday nights (hip hop), there is always enough room to dance for the crowd.. but big events on saturdays are fuked....:whip:

It has nothing to do with being from Toronto Jayx. And to say Torontonian's are spoiled is e. Last Saturday night at the Guv the TYPE of crowd was the problem. It may have been busy (I've seen worse), but the pushing and shoving and like that ruins the night.

I love the fact that Guv. can get the big name Dj's and that a lot of EDM fans come out for a good time. However, it pisses me off when a ton of punks show up just to push their way through the crowd, or stumble through depending on how ed they are on drugs.

IMO the best way to solve the problem is to hold big name events in the Kool Haus. Someone else said this earlier, Guvernment attracts a ton of people that are there to go to the club. And that's where the biggest difference lies. A lot of us were at Guv for the music and the DJ, but a lot more were there to be at a club.

To argue that we're spoiled is typical of your destorted perception of reality Jayx. Were you at Sasha, on the dancefloor? If you were up behind the stage (like you usually seem to be) then you have no in' idea what it was like. Spend an entire night down on the floor, and then tell us how in' spoiled we are.

actually it was quite sketched out on the stage too...

LOL @ "too cool people"...

Little do these people know that EDM is top40 anywhere else outside of North America. Underground in the form of the EDM we know is NOT underground in any sense of the word and hasnt been for at least a decade now. "Underground" DJs also do not do international media campaigns such as Ford Focus and Mitsubichi among others.

Just enjoy the music because you like it whether you think its underground or not. Same goes for whatever club you happen to like.

Actually i was on the patio and the dancefloor most of the night since it was my night off. And i stick to my original conclusion. Torontonians are spoiled and not just when it comes to clubs. Somebody needs to send this spoiled child of a city to sit in the corner for a timeout.

And perhaps the reason that they dont hold events in Koolhaus as much anymore could have to do with the new smoking law? There are no patios off the koolhaus and no smoking room either. Im not saying this is the case or that its official, this is just a layman's educated guess. So for all those in support of the lame smoking law, it could have just affected your night out in ways you couldnt have even imagined.

I dont know what you were watching or listening to but 2 years ago when i was there it's all i heard on the radio. They even have a couple of all dance music video stations on basic cable.
