Hey Nat!!!
I wasn't there so I can't comment on how crowded it was...but Sasha is a big name so I'd assume that it was really rammed in there! I don't recall it being REALLY packed on a regular sat night but I haven't been in a while so again I'm not the one to judge :).
Sorry to hear you guys didn't have as much fun as expected! Great pics from Nu Nrg by the way!!!! Thanks a lot once again! ;) |

Thats definately one of the problems. But its also the fact they either dont take a count of who comes in the door, or they dont know the meaning of the word

It seems some ppl here are missing the whole point,no offense , but maybe this helps understand our feeling:
Guvernment is not the place it used to be anymore, all and all because of Charles tyhead's greed and stupidity , that's SAD. :sadgreen:
you fellas keep saying:"if you don't like it well, don't go" , well thanks for the wisdom and guidance, as if we're not intelligent enough to understand that Guv=horrible experience + bad time and blah blah blah
Why do we keep coming back (even once/twice a year)?
merely because the corrupt and greedy management have the POWER ( as star searcher put it correctly) to book the DJs, that we as crazy EDM fans (even knowing about all the torture/pain and harassment we're going to suffer that night) follow and yearn to see and it goes on and and on and on with no hope.
also, it could be, IMO, because of this nostalgic feeling about good ol' days of GUV , when everyone knew it was crowded and sweaty (but never over packed and unbearable) and yeah the fu**ed up Asians were there and but you could still go, have a GOOD TIME with your friends for god's sake there was no worries:it was all about partying!!!.
I clearly remember after those stupid labor of love parties, guvermnet took the shot in the arm and crashed down big time, ppl who I knew would NEVER EVER have the guts to come to guverment suddenly became aware and big fans of this place they didn't have a fukin clue of( thanks to all this ridiculous publicity) and started raiding GUV and it eventually became the ty place it is today: ANTI underground, not KOOL and pathetic: hence all the issues everyone's talking about the crowd, heat,etc.
why? cuz charles ain't gonna give about it :mad:
no one's bitching about the venue whatever, it's the stupid, disgusting and insane management that's driving me crazy and that no one could do about it, just think about it: AVB,PVD,TIESTO,SASHA, etc etc etc: couple yrs ago Charles would never even dare put them in GUV packing the place to it's ? did he? maybe I was in a coma, cuz as long as i remember , they played in KH , now he doesn't give about it, so I don't give about that place either.
finally, we have every right to be sad and depressed about this tragedy that's happening to one of the coolest places in T.O for ppl who were not the club district/Richmond St kind of people and simply felt happy and content to have a kool place to rock and party, GUV is dead and there's nothing we can do. :whip: :whip: :whip:
and if you think it's going to get better or even stay the same, well keep dreaming, but meanwhile more and more cool ppl are going to boycott GUV and you can still go to a place full of sweaty monkeys and jerks and try hard to enjoy yourself and live up the GUV dream.;)

It's like the death of the superclubs all over the world. Big venues like this are all going under because they have such reputations as being a 'good place to party' rather than 'where the good people go to party'. As these reputations reach a level where the average person in the area will know of this club, it'll start attracting the crowds without the knowledge of the type of music or scene that should be prevalent in the club, and as a result, the quality of the club will decrease to the level say where the guv is at, and the better part of the crowd will start to boycott it.
I remember the good days of the guv. But I won't be sorry when that club's gone. |

Well from the rumors/facts saying that Guv is turning into a condom...the obvious explaination for this Charles choice to cram everyone in...is to get as much money as he can from the biz as possible...
Maybe the founder/owner/administrators of TA should lease a complex/bar and get into the club industry...One contact it seems TA already has is DT...who wrote a compassionate letter to members and fans from TA.

I wish it was like that, but with all the FOB'y Asians that go there, i'm sure it would backfire. I wouldn't want to be the bouncer who tells them to get lost and that they can't come into the club to get ed up. Besides, if you take away all the cracked out Asian's, the place would look empty on most given nights.
