Buddy, its been said MANY times. If you look the age, you get in to Boa. Just dress a little nicer than you would at normal clubs ;) See you there. |

I like guv, the club itself, and the talent they bring in. Therefore, I will keep going back even though I agree with the complaints in the previous posts.
In addition to the ones mentioned in previous posts, here are some causes (the way I see it) that make guv a horrible venue:
* The bouncers - Rudest mofos on the face of the planet. I truly believe they take pleasure in terrorizing the patrons. I must add, the staff @ guv in general are pretty stuck-up and rude. I'd like a smile with my drink, dammit!! :toothless
* The orange room - This room attracts an unsavory crowd (take this with a grain of salt.) They venture into the main room or KH and harass the girls. Guv is one of the only places in town where a bunch of friends, some of whom like EDM and others who like hip hop can go to together. If they do away with this room that type of crowd has no reason to be there. The orange room was turned into a chill out room at global gathering and I noticed a big difference in the crowd composition. Boa and Systems do not have an "orange room" so you don't see that kinda problem at those clubs.
* Traffic flow in the main room - There is none!! People go which-ever way there want causing congestion. Why do these ppl feel the need to cut across the dance floor to get to the washroom from the patio? It would take less time and effort just to get there along the sides. I’m not sure what management can do to change this but I highly doubt they’ll even try.
* That ing train-horn - I hate it!! And I also hate that dude with the air-horns at special events.

Must admit that LOL last year wasn't as bad as the previous year. Crowd flow was waaaaay better. I hope they do the same this year. |

I went to the Guv for the last time when Ferry Corsten was there and I haven't been back since...I was at the Koolhaus for Ritchy Hawtin and pretty much stayed there the whole nite...The Guv is just WAY too small a venue for the big ticket DJs and so I am not gonna go to the Guv anymore and the no brain Goons the Guv have as security staff don't help for a fun evening either...Its just too bad the the City of Toronto won't let some promoters use city owned buildings for big parties...

| The guv is such a joke now....they bring these awesome A list djs to such a heat filled, floor packed, filled with ignorant crancky whoores and some ignorant gino wanks ...what a shame....but i still i have fun (every 4-6 months i end up going, lol) |

I skipped it...precisely for the reasons people are complaining about...because I know, and most people should too, that it's going to be like when big names are are town.
It will take someone I *really* want to hear to get me back into Guv for a special event after that Tiesto bull. I'm excited for Astral Projection and M.I.K.E in KH though (old KH setup please!) :D

Holy . I just read this whole thread, and I can't help but be glad I don't live in Ontario anymore, and see these top DJ's at the Guv. I can't even really remember the last DJ I saw at the Guv, but I do know this, it was PACKED.
Here's a question for yall. Do you think that the Guvernment has the Toronto Fire Dept. in thier pocket? All this talk about overcapacity, and I know what you mean, but the only people that can shut a place down for overcap. is the fire dept. Where the hell are they? They must have em in thier pockets... there's no other way.
Everytime I heard of a DJ coming to the Guv, and I was gonna miss them... I prayed to God that that was the 1 time the fire dept showed up and shut the party down. |
