| I am a firm believer in science first when it comes to explaining things. That being said....science only can take you so far and then you have to believe in faith. We are brought up believing certain things are morally right and morally wrong and we are told not to do the things that are morally wrong. The basis for what we have been taught is right and is wrong is enforced through some sort of religous believes of our ancestors. This is taught to others and so on and so on. Certain beliefs have become law and therefore they are enforced on us. |

Fine....I will take a stance....religon is for weak minded people who need to believe in the afterlife because they are affraid of death. If you want to believe in religon then go ahead....there is no such thing as GOD....GOD is some word that we decided to make up to give an identity to the afterlife. The whole thing is crap and this whole thread is crap. not really...most religious people aren't scared of dying, but rather embrace it. |

And the reason they embrace it is because they believe there is an afterlife. Without the belief of an afterlife they are scared that there is nothing.....The truth is there is nothing...when I die...I will be put into the ground...I will decompose and become dirt. I will see no light....I will see no gate....I will not see heaven nor will I see hell. I will be dead...that is all. |

Personally the idea of eternity scares me more than that of non-existance. |
