Let's see what Bad religion has to say about the afterlife

"there's a place where everyone can be right
even though you remain determined to be opposed
admittance requires no qualifications
it's where everyone has been and where everybody goes
so please try not to be impatient
for we all hate standing in line
and when the farm is good and bought
you'll be there without a thought
and eternity my friend, is a long in' time"

a) pistake is UK slang not US slang but really who cares.... essentially he was asking if you were kidding.

he thinks i was kidding???

b) whether or not something is or is not real is inmaterial to wheter or not people believe in it. UFOs may or may not be real but many believe in them. The easter bunny is not real but many children believe in it. God may or may not be real, that people believe something is not evidence that it exists as anything more then a believe.

what does the easter bunny have to do with anything

ppl see god and talk to him every day but.how can ppl beleive he doesnt exist???? if god doesnt exist then were did the world come from???
try answering that one. i bet you cant.

quote:
C) No one has ever proven that the tooth fairy DOESN'T exist either. It is impossible to prove a negative. Failing to prove that something does not exist does not act as proof that it does exist. Also, you should note that Darwin was a firm believer in chritianity and thought that evolution was further evidence of God... Evolution and Creation are not diabolically opposed.

dude if god doesnt exist then PROOVE it. if you cant then its because he DOES exist. think about it.

also your WRONG. darwin said that evolution was a lie just beofre he died. go look it up in any history book and youll know i'm right (exept for athiest history books that dont tell the WHOLE storey )

Sorry brother but both your post and the one that you are attempting to support show a serious lack of knowledge regarding physical anthropology.
There certainly is a clear chain from Astrolopithicus to Homo Sapien... granted, we don't have skeletal records for every part of this chain but the chain is there. Try to remember that the search for fosil records of these two classes of primate have only really been going on since the early 60s. The fact that we have found as much of the chain as we have is somewhat astounding.
Where your argument that evolution is not correct because we have not found a direct link is flawed is because you are suggesting that there is only one link. We already know of at least 4 Homo species prior to Homo Sapien Archaic and 3 Astrololpithicus species after Afarencis.... it is only a matter of time before we find the last Astrolopithicus and the first Homo.

BTW, as I said earlier creation and evolution are not mutually exclusive. If you take an interpretive view of the bible the story of creation is a very good allagory for evolution.... which makes sense to me because God is certainly bright enough to know that no bronze age people would understand the big bang and evolution so he had to tell the story in a manner they could relate to.

hey do you want to know why there is no fosills??? because we were created by god NOT by evolution:)

stop looking for anwsers in the dirt and start looking for them in heven where the REAL truth is :)

oh...

i wasn't directly speaking to him in that post, i was talking about everyone who is posting in here about their opinionated views, as if they are facts.

sorry if i offended u or your brother.

back on topic...just wrote my mom this email.

quote:

just for the record mom, i wasn't saying that i disagree about how you feel about peyton and the whole athiest thing...i just think you are overstepping your boundaries with this. i spoke to several people about it, including dad, and they all said that it is absolutely not your place to push religion on a kid that isn't yours. i mean, yea it's your nephew, but he's not your son. you have to respect (and accept) the fact that not everyone is religious, it's a part of life. people who don't believe in god can't stand religious people who try to push their views on them...and especially on their kid, you know? just put yourself in her shoes...how would you like it if your brother's wife was trying to push Islamic views on your kid...you wouldn't appreciate it one bit.

also, dad brought up a very good point. stacey might get REALLY pissed and not want you around peyton u know? we've already agreed that she is the type to keep peyton away from us if dave were to ever leave her, so just be careful. maybe when he's older and he's able to reason and know the meaning of religion, you can try to introduce it to him, but he's still so little, and it's just not a good idea, trust me. just worry about it later, and don't start a big fuss over it...i mean he's only like 4 right? you should never push your views on people mom, it's just not right, but you can certainly introduce it to them...

you can express how you feel about it to dave only, but don't be abrasive about it and make him feel like he HAS to do something about it, because really, he doesn't at all. just because you and dave were raised in a catholic family, doesn't mean dave is this devout catholic...i mean really, when's the last time he went to church? if he seems to be OK with it, then let it be.

dont get all defensive about it either please, i think it's a HUGE mistake for you and liz to make a big deal out of this.
