Any chance of getting some good sets from the three noted above from pre-2006??? |
start with these.. someone posted them on LS. The Beyer vs Liebing one is good.. the others I don't remember.. but the pitch control ones were usually solid!

Great set.
There aren't many sets with this kind of energy on the go these days. The minimalish sound is where it's at with most DJ's right now. DJ Murphy is pretty solid with the harder stuff, Varela is another. (Damn i can't wait til we have another good techno DJ booked here. I'm so there with bells on. Ive also got my fingers crossed for a back to back techno booking in one of the rooms at this years Decadence event.)
And a heads up for fellow fans....Clarke was on Cox's radio show last week. Good set, nothing really new in terms of tunes....but its worth a listen. |

yeah but apparently even Varela seems to have followed the herd... at least the last few sets of his I listened to.
I *might* be checking out Patrick DSP playing on Feb 17 though in Toronto! :) I know he won't play sleepy techno. |

Well if that's the case, i hope you are very surprised.
The way i see it, the most likely chance I'll have at seeing a full on techno set in Toronto - in a proper club setting (i.e. a big, crowded room) - is if its an all access event at the Guv/KH complex. So, i've got my hopes up for Decadence. And yeah, I know, it isn't likely....but I'm hoping. |

I really enjoyed the last 3 techno parties I went to at Guv... I'd have no chance of seeing a triple headliner night like that here in Montreal these days. If there had been another event like that in the past year there I probably would have gone... but it seems like it's been ages since they last had a big techno party.
(Speedy J was also worth the trip!) |

I don't remember the last time Guv had a big techno headliner since Speedy J, which was a year ago.
ah well. |
