Best set so far (by far):
* Secret Cinema & Coming Soon - DJ-set @ Awakenings Outdoor 2007

....haven't listened to Beyer's set yet however.

(edit) Actually, it's this set that is the one I'm talking about.
Whole set is great, but the last half is so f'ing kick ass.

(2nd edit) Beyer just cranked it at the 50 minute mark of his set, too bad the build up to get there took so long. You saw Beyer right Kate??

Anyways....all really great sets. Must have been so fun to have so much good techno to choose from in one spot.

Felix Krocher's Awakenings set.... probably my favourite set of the night, he plays hard, but not *too* hard...
I had to leave halfway through Pet Duo's set right after to go to the other room though because it was pretty much just schranz!

90 min set... he drops a bit of cheese and some classix too

^^ This set is incredible. I absolutely love it to death!

Actually we got there just as Steve Rachmad was finishing up (who seemed to be playing harder than the last few times I saw him!) and only saw a few minutes of Beyer before we went to another tent to see Joey Beltram with some friends :)
I had planned to see Beyer but after watching Joey for a few minutes I wasn't going to leave.. he started playing some oldies and a bunch of recs I haven't heard played out.

As for British Murder Boys, they are great indeed! This was my first time seeing them together, but the few times now I have seen Surgeon or Regis on their own they were also solid!:toocool:
It's been ages since either of them last played Canada, but they still play the US now and again.

Wow, is that BMB set ever hard.

I had heard some stuff from Surgeon before but not Regis, nor the two together. Awesome stuff.

Those guys rock. Surgeon is such a good producer. Hopefully those guys make it here one day.
Paul Kalkbrenner is actually working on a Surgeon remix and will be in Toronto this month for a gig.

He is in Montreal on July 19th, so I am assuming it will be in and around that date. I am disappointed that I won't be here to see him if it is that weekend.

Last time he was here his set was absolutely amazing. So to Cribby and Vince who missed him the last time.. make sure you get out this time. :)

I would LOVE to see that happen.. they are long overdue to return... I think the last time in Montreal was at Sona over 5 years ago. Best bet would be to try to get them booked next time they are in the US... last year Regis played NYC a few times, as did Surgeon I believe (but not together I don't think).

Another DJ to book who plays the US regularly but not Canada.. Joel Mull! He is in the US now, playing Minneapolis tomorrow night and some other gigs... such a great DJ (and producer!). I was really impressed with Cari Lekebusch's closing set at Awakenings last weekend, it would be great to have him back in Canada too.
