I would say all of his sets I've heard from 2007 are more minimal and experimental than his toronto set was. |
I would absolutley agree.
And either I or Sarah can hook u up w/ that set. It's mind blowingly good.
I played it for Jay in my car a while back (he missed the night). and he was crapping himself all over the place with each new track and mix!!!
Yankerinos, its INCREDIBLE. Simply. |

Here's his background/bio as listed in LiveSets.com... :D
| quote: | This week a tribute to the man behind the Hydraulix label and over a hundred releases, Henry Cullen a.k.a. Dave the Drummer!
Deck technician and production wizard, D.A.V.E. aka Henry Cullen is no newcomer to the world stage. Over the last 5 years he’s taken his unique sound to countries such as: Brasil, Japan, Australia, America, Canada, Italy and Spain to name a few. He’s also played in many of the notable London clubs such as: The End, Ultimate Bass and The mass, most recently playing to a full house for Antiworld at the new SE1 club and has played with some of techno's most respected artists such as : Ritchie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Dave Angel and Thomas Krome to name a few.
Initially helping to kick start the London techno movement with the Liberator djs, D.A.V.E’s focus has shifted from his earlier acidic productions to a more mature style of techno which is reflected on his own label HYDRAULIX, and now his new label APEX . HYDRAULIX has been receiving huge support from many respected club Djs from all genres and has become a mainstay of the underground techno scene in London and abroad. APEX had release number 1 licensed for a Carl Cox compilation from the german club U60311 and has received plays from many techno jocks including Stanny Frannsen and Pounding Grooves. D.A.V.E.’s early productions appeared mainly on the local London labels such as: S.U.F. Cluster ,Routemaster , 4x4 and Smitten, since then he has appeared on many respected european techno labels such as: Primate (special edition 10" with Michael Burkat) Chris Liebings CLR (with Lawrie Pounding Grooves) and Fine Audio Recordings as STROBE, alongside releases as Henry Cullen on Bound , Giant and Dwarf and many remixes including the recent "Acid Disco" for Vicious Circle recordings and new remixes for Ignition Technition, DJ emerson and DJ Urban . D.A.V.E. has also been responsible for mixing and engineering on many productions for many different labels including, Molecular, Eukatech, Eukahouse, Eukabreaks, God Made Me Hardcore, T.E.C. and many more He has received much support over the years from the U.K. press with articles appearing in Mixmag, DJ mag, Wax, and Ministry magazine. D.A.V.E. has also been voted into DJ magazines top 100 djs chart twice. Achieving position 72 as the highest. A regular london free party DJ playing for Malfaiteurs, Manic, Restless Natives, Freebass, Immersion and now Tribe of Munt D.A.V.E’s professional but fun attitude makes him a very easy going and reliable dj to deal with, who will rock the party every time.
So be sure to tune in to LiveSets Radio, this Friday at 12:00 CET!

That is ty. I knew it would sell out as soon as the lineup was announced though. It usually always does. I believe Extrema is only 25,000 in comparison to the 60,000 DV has.
| I might end up getting a hookup for Extrema after all.. so we shall see! ;)
Beyer is also playing club Rembrandt in Eindhoven afterwards... still wouldn't make up for missing the other artists at Extrema like Mills.. but something to keep in mind anyway :)
The weather looks ty for Awakenings this weekend (like it has been practically for the past few weeks).. hopefully it ends up decent. |
