I sent Shaun Reeves a message on Facebook (one of the people who runs Old Miami) and this is what he said about the question of whether Old Miami was happening or not:
"its happening 100%. was never cancelled and never will be :) "

Graham can you explain what Old Miami is?
I was trying to explain to Geoff but all I could come up with is "we have to go because every year i read reviews its always one of the best parties and people always regret going" but besides that, thats all i know. |

I've actually never been, but it's an outdoor afterhours on the Monday of the weekend that goes all day. Based on what I've heard, it's an eccentric crowd with lots of hilarious antics and really good music all day.
The DJs are the same guys who did the Get Lost party in Miami, which was the best party of the entire conference by a long shot, so I'm definitely checking it out this year. They don't announce the full line-ups, and usually you get a couple of headliners from DEMF showing up unannounced to play. |

| Thinking that we're going to book a hotel in Windsor instead of tha D'. Convenient being on the U.S. side, yes, but Canuck hotel rates are considerably cheaper and we won't have much need to be in Detroit after the fest closes each day, since we won't be hitting up any of the afterparties (12 hours/day is more than enough for us old folk!). |
