Tried that before, you get bumped around like a pinball if you're too close, and it's almost just as hard to walk out as it would be to push through to the front when you hit up a piss break or beer run...
The optimum spot is to the right of the BP stage, back speaker, there is good sound,pretty good vantage point, and you're close to the portojohns, beer vendors and you can quickly venture to the other stages if you want to take a peek or listen. And you can hit the grass area at the back end of the BP tent by the river which is a good area to just chill but still get the sound of the tent, and the BP tent looks pretty badass all light up at night...

It was sold out on the website and they said no more tickets... then there were tickts going for $100+ on ebay , craigslist, kijiji etc.. then when I went to will call and there were makeshift signs saying more boat tickets for sale...
We also overheard people bailing on the boat because they were overpartied from Sat and all day Sun in the sun... we assumd there must have been people bailing on the boat. Perhaps they left DEMF, went to the hotel to get changed and then stayed in?
Still debating on getting the Detek tickets beforehand tho... just afraid to not get in. But also don't want to buy tickets for me and my friends and possibly lose out because someone bails, or for some odd reason we choose another party (which is doubtful).
I want check in earlier than 3pm at the hotel on Saturday tho, wonder if we can get early checkins? Anyone know? |

We were talking about international/US data charges in the 4square thread during DEMF, and figured I would post it here too... for all the Canadian peeps while in Detroit. There are a few things i'm thinking about for data use at DEMF (ie. foursquare, twitter, facebook pic uploads, msn etc)
My suggestion for all Toronto people is #3
1) Hopefully there will be some sort of wifi to grab in Hart Plaza, all that technology, hotels everywhere, businesses etc.., must be something! Maybe Paxahau will have something set up lol, or we can steal Richie's wifi from his Platikman rig!
2) Turn off roaming, and force your network to be Rogers (Or Telus/Bell whatever) so that your phone doesn't try to jump on the stronger US networks, since DEMF is right on the river, you should be able to catch Voice/Data signal from Windsor and you're golden! Lisa said she called in and had it turned off on thier end and she get's a strong Rogers signal way further than DEMF grounds...
3) Call up your carrier later and say "I was in Windsor all weekend visiting friends, now my bill is $$$$$$, and I don't recall, or paid attention to what it said on my phone..." usually they will reverse the charges since it's a very common occurence for CAN/US border cities, especially with Windsor/Detroit. My worry is that they will look closer and see alot of 313 Detroit calls...
Rogers has some US add ons, but they don't look very cheap... |

hahaa yes makes more sense to continue here.
The text messaging add ons seem decent but the data seems really expensive. I think ill just get 50 US text messages.. I cant see myself needing to send more than that over 4 days
I just need to be able to send the odd 'hey where are you' messages |
