I still like Besatport Stage before Ida is on, in the back somewhere.

Cars get broken into a lot even if they are in a parking garage. If you want to be sure the car will be taken care of, ask the valet at Doubletree to park it as far in as possible. Tell them you don't need it until you leave so they will have it in the back.

Ditto. As of now I'm still rollin solo to my first DEMF and I'm starting to get that nervous excited feeling like when I first attended WMC years ago, also alone. That worked out well, as now I know a ton of people when I go down there, so I'm fairly confident the same will happen in Detroit. Still, some pics, a roll call, and a solid meetup would be of great help to people like me. I'm probably also gonna whore my number out to a bunch of you by PM beforehand.... That's right, I've got no shame :tongue2

Have no fear, its on its way. :)

Put Your Hands Up: An oral history of Detroit's electronic music festival

It's quite long, but it is definitely worth reading the whole way through. It's captivating, informative, emotional, exciting, and inspiring all at the same time. Easily the best piece I've read on RA since I started reading it a few years ago.

Yup I read it yesreday, very worth while.... however i skimeed some parts ... I will most liekly go back and finish it off...

I skimmed parts too initially but then went back and read the whole thing.

Does anyone want to get hotel rooms on the same level? It would be more convenient to be door to door or at least on the same floor instead of going up and down every time we want to meet up or what not.

+1 I think DoubleTree should have a floor or 2 just for TAs.. might as well "contain" us in one area... oh dear.. haha.

anyone know anything about taking a cab over the border? Say, from the windsor train station straight into downtown. And how much would it be? is there any sort of flat rate? any help is appreciated.

I have been told it is around $50...you have to make sure you get into a cab that is licensed to cross the border. I also know there is a shuttle bus that crosses for around $15.

I will be coming back with either the bus or cab but have a ride across.

Bus is only about $5 each way.

I never done it, but I've called cab companies to ask their cost for crossing the border. They told me you had to book ahead of time and it was $10-$20 in addition to the regular fee per minute - which would be a lot considering the tunnel construction. It's probably be cheaper to ask them to take the bridge.

Sandeep, we should update the first post witorh a roll call of who is actually going and maybe in brackets the list of afterparties the person plans on attending.

It'd be sweet to incorporate the photo thread as well - although TA has changed so much since then.

Tara, grab the info and send it to me and I will put it in the intital post... don't want to sound lazy, but I don't get access to TA at work or anything lol, and I been busy as lately after work...

Get it together and i'll post it...

Also.. I was thinking about the ROLL CALL too, was thinking maybe just intergrate it into this post so we don't have multiple conversations going about the same thing... just sayin.. then after we'll go with a REVIEW thread...

What you think? I think I can change the thread title to ROLL CALL on Saturday... lol

AAAAAND! Where in the is the BlackBerry Movement APP?!?!?!?! Ugh :whip:

EDIT - I guess ROLL CALL was already done without the 7 day prior rule lol :haha:

One of our car mates suggested that we cross over at Sarnia and drive down to Detroit through Mi., avoiding having to drive through downtown Windsor/Detroit (our hotel is midtown) and what will probably be a very long lineup at the tunnel/bridge. Sound plan, methinks.

Oh, and might be a good time to consider buying your U.S. cash, if you haven't already. The whole EU debaucle is causing our dollar to drop significantly against U.S. coin (3.5 cents in the past week).
