Yeah, you're completely right. That's why attempted murder and murder are so different. Trying to do something but failing is sooo different then trying and succeeding. Clearly not as depressed. People who just attempt should try harder or stop crying. |

A buddy of mine shot himself last summer. He was experiencing psychosis for quite some time and didn't want to take meds...but he just couldn't take it anymore and killed himself.
Then there was my friend's room mate who had a massive gambling addiction and owed a bunch of people money and . He took off for three or so days and left behind all of these elaborate envelopes with notes addressed to people in his life apologizing for everything and being very cryptic. The envelopes had pictures, cards, videotapes, other personal trinkets...
The police caught him before he had the chance to get where he was going - which was a plane to Las Vegas.
He was charged with all kinds of counts of fraud. Turns out he had been showing their apartment for months and just keeping the deposit money.
