Pedro has lost something like 17 out of his last 23 games versus New York. They are his daddy. His ERA this year is 3.90, which is good, but nothing spectacular and not Johan Santana. I'm not scared of him!!

I don't think taking into this years stats from Sheffield and A Rod is completely fair since A Rod was 1-17 in the first series against Boston. Plus, he is getting hot at the right time and when he's going, he's gonna get his knocks. I think it's important to look at what they're doing now. A lot of the playoffs is about people getting hot at the right time.

As you said, we could go back and forth because it is so close and that's what makes it so intense. I think it's got to go 7 games though.

Anyway, I second Highmay.

BOSTON AND ALL THEIR SECOND RATE FANS.

If you ever win a world series, win 25 more and then we can start talking.

I think that when any Boston team starts to think about actually beating the Yankees, they start to get that small voice in their head about mystique, about how they can never beat NY, how they are always second place. As soon as that little voice creeps in there, BOOM, there goes a 3 run jack and they're done. It will happen again, I don't doubt that.

AY STAR
well to alot of people this is like bigger then the superbowl when these 2 teams play
iam rooting for the yanks all the way
during the season i though boston would kill the yanks in the post season but the yanks pitching and hittin have been on point and clutch so it should be a good seris
my perdiction is that if boston dont beat the yanks in game 5 or 6 then they will loose in game 7
but i would really love to see the yanks win it in boston this time and see that lil bitch ben affleck start crying agin ha ha ha i hope arod fights him next

The past has nothing to do with the present. If the Red Sox do win the WS this year, that's it. They won the WS and the Yankees didn't. There is no other argument like "the Yankees won 26 blah blah." Stuff like that means absolutely nothing. And I think it's funny how Yankee fans forget about the 80's and early 90's...

Yankee's win in Game 6.

I know exactly what you mean. It's like ok let's just stop playing baseball altogether cause the yankees have won so many championships and realistically i cant even imagine how long it would be before another team wins that many.

this thread started off really well and then it went straight downhill with all the boston . and you guys wonder why we hate the yankees so much.

I'm glad you noted the fact that this thread started off really well and went downhill from there, please don't let me recall that A-Rod thread be it that it was posted without any substance pre-first post and the instance there is some visibility of yankee fans demonstrating their bitterness towards boston fans I see a post to point out such. You say and you guys wonder why we hate the yankees so much, you dont hate us cuz we talk to you boston fans, if anything boston fans talk to most to yankee fans. Why is it that when I visit other stadiums and talk to other fans they say that Boston houses the most ignorant fans, not to mention how obnoxious they are? Ok enough with the slander...substance!!!

As per NYP(post), this morning it seems that Schilling is Mr. Limp but he fears no yankee nor he fears no limp. So is the ankle going to be a factor tonight? Is MO going to bring his presence? Who knows? I think if Schilling dominates tonight, Pedro will have a great advantage tomorrow night. If Schilling falls Pedro will have a nice load on his shoulders to carry them tomorrow night. This is what I love about Boston rotation. Pedro has been Mr. Choke artist so if Schilling gets schlacked tonight Pedro will seriously have to win back his reputation by proving something to the yankees.

The Yankees - Moose is hit or miss, as it seems from his last start against Boston @ Home, he pitched in fair/mild conditions. It was pretty cold that weekend as he went up against Pedro. I'm hoping the cooler weather is what he is more comfortable in pitching in. The only "hole" in the yankees lineup right now is Posada. He didn't hit that well against the Twins in the ALDS. Everyone else is swinging their bats majorly. Well tonight will be the tale of the tapes, lets see how far it goes.

The Yankees weren't bad in the 80's, they just didn't have the wild card back then. The Yankees started being good in 90's in 1994, the strike shortened season in which they had the 2nd best record. Nothing to be ashamed about.

Red Sox honks always say it doesn't matter with history because their history sucks. Tell that to the Astros if history didn't mean anything when it was the their first series win. Or the Cubs who always talk about how long since they won. History doesn't mean anything? Yeah whatever....
