My point is the same, clutch is about execution, not effort. That means skill. You have more skillful players, you have more clutch players. See ball, hit ball.. some do better than others.

Put Barry Bonds on the Yanks and see what happens. Put Randy Johnson and see what happens. Talent = execution = clutch hits/pitching = win. I think the Red Sox and the Yanks are so evenly matched they play 26 innings in 2 days. Right?

The Yankees bad pitching obviously caught up to them so no sweep. Hey, slap me silly because I didn't foresee the Bo Sox coming back. They did, I can deal with it. It's not life or death to me. Believe me, my other sports teams have choked plenty, I know the feeling.

But a game 7 for the non yankee fan makes it so exciting. WOW.. being in New York for this is awesome. Can't you just feel the energy from everybody walking around... it's buzzing!

Pedro will definitely relieve tonight. So will El Duque I think.

I'm time warping Kevin Brown back to 1999. Wallah....

It's 'Voila.' French for "there it is." Heh

But it's definitely nice to see someone agreeing about the term 'clutch.' Robin Ventura has 18 career Grand Slams. Derek Jeter has 0. Who would you rather have at bat with the bases loaded? Most likely Derek Jeter. Because he is the better player. Unless Jeter is 1 - 75 with the bases loaded and Ventura is 36 for 46 with 18 hrs, Jeter is STILL the better player and I'd much rather have him at the plate than Ventura.

You can't just stick Joe McEwing or Enrique Wilson out there because they've gotten a few big hits in the past. I'd still feel better with a big bat who was 0-20 in the series than the little guy who has had some big basehits. But that's just me.

And Brian, Members of X is right. The more tired a sinker baller is, the more the sinker sinks. So Lowe and Brown may both pitch great tonight because they are both on short rest.

I didn't say he was absolutely wrong. I've pitched in d2 college and played ball for 13yrs of my life. I know about pitching and I know for a fact that with a tired arm, it doesn't necessarily mean a pitcher will have more "bite" on his pitch. In this terms a sinker ball pitcher having MORE movement downward on his pitch. I'm just saying that a pitcher's mechanics (delivery) will compensate for a tired/sore arm. It's just a fact of the matter, you begin to push with your legs more, the timing is off, the delivery will make up for the extra zip on the ball but you lose location. you will end up "trying" to throw it harder/higher. This is the same if the pitcher's mechanics aren't compensating and his arm/elbow is up and he is throwing regular sinkers. With a tired arm and proper mechanics, a sinker ball pitcher is effective.
